I was thinking of buying novita Air Purifier NAP 620 when there is stock.

This is the CADR as tested by 1 lab. The 303 has slightly higher coverage than the 203. I have heard the 203 in store, I can't say 100% for sure, but it shd be pretty loud.....pretty loud for 200+ m3/hr.

Another thing is that Blueair does not come with pre-filter built-in. If you want one, you'd need to DIY. But if you don't have a financial issue spending $200 per year on filters, then just forget about this point then.

Up to your personal choice.

Do they work? I bought to use as pre-filter for AX40 but removed it cos it was affecting air flow. The small piece of 3M filtrete I was using previously turned grey within 1 week (including that Thur/Fri where AQI was close to 400)

Was at Parkway Daiso a couple days, they had loads of stock for a/c filter and fan filter. I bought the fan filter but had to return it cos it was too small for the fans in my house

They just restocked cos usually Parkway Daiso looks quite empty....

Already mentioned before, my friend. Do not use any sort of additional pre-filter. I can write a long story on the reasons and my experience and in-room measurements, but seriously......there really is no need. I always read posts about using pre-filter.

It's really just a waste of additional money, somemore filtrete. Even the Taobao filter is like 1.3 dollar a piece, and you throw it away 1 week later nowadays.

As posted in the other thread.....air quality was somewhat decent last night, wanted to show the other folks what our APs can do as they were discussion some cleanroom and "zero" ug/m3 concentration stuff.

Last time during better air quality conditions (sub 10 ugm3 external, NEA figure), I could dig down to 30-90 ug/m3 for 0.3 microns with just 1 x AX40.

Last night, I used 1 x Midea KJ30NV, 1 x AX40, 1 x PS-R459

Yeah. That was my concern as well. Logically at face value, lower is better but if other rated specs ended up lower then not good. Hence asking.

I realised i have a watt meter as well. But have not learn how to use it

Chuanz and I have personally measured the airflows of units like 611/620/AX40/LA-Q379/PS-R459. All are to spec.

This is how I can get figures like 240 m3/hr airflow in HIGH for AX40, with the RMB26, 300x300x25 mm TB HEPA DIY cut into size.

etc etc...



We'd have shouted loud loud in 2014 if they did not perform to spec.


Just to summarise, I still maintain the recommendation of the Taobao HEPA and stuff like Sharp A80, Samsung AX40, LG LA-Q379/PS-R459. These machines have been tested to death before, not just for haze 2015 season.

Just buy without reservation at the lowest price, each model has its own little quirk and some may find Sharp to be better, some may find LG to be better, some the Samsung.

If you can score a LG 379 or 459 for $120 brand new in box or $50 for used, then power to you as well


If the Samsung is not doing well into the 300 m3/hr league, the below result would not have been possible.

I think the others have been seeing this picture > 10 times until sian 1/2 liao. Don't mind me spamming this pic agains, please do register this as the most important performance index.

For those driving, I highly recommend getting the Philips Gopure air purifier for car.

Makes a hell of a difference when it comes to driving concentration levels. I travelled a very long journey(450km) today and those pesky Malaysian Bikes with their smelly exhaust vapours didn't affect my car's A/C. At the end of the long trip, I didn't feel any kind of physical/mental fatigue.

Or you can customise a less restrictive F7 quality filter from TB.

It does help, I have multiple times measured the levels and sometimes the Hyndai Sonata citycab gave me a 8X drop vs external levels. ie good enough for pre-term infants for short duration travels even if external is > 300 ug/m3.

As how much an airflow drop it presents, and whether or not your A/C can take it/freeze or not, that one I leave it to the individual. Coz it really depends on the health and fan blower of the car AC.

If have power meter just compare:
- new filter
- dirt filter
- w/o filter

I tested my Sharp KC-A61
Motor Nidec DMOT-A006KK DC340V 50W
Sharp label shows max 60W
Measured max with filter is 50W, without filter - 75W

BTW, do you know what was the peak concentration recorded (PM10 or PM2.5 is fine) in Moscow 2010?

Kalimantan recorded this as peak.
And it was at a proper air quality monitoring station in the city, not right beside the hotspot.

Singapore F1 period. Luckily it was just slightly hazy during the F1 race weekend. This picture was taken with a PM2.5 concentration reading (official NEA agency figure) @ 341 ug/m3, Sep 14th, 1800h, Southern region. Peak figure recorded was 356 ug/m3 about 1 week later.

Actually there is one more Samsung AX40 version, the AX40J500 and 5008. Just came out in late August 2015.

AX30 replaces AX20/AX022 model range (the smaller ones, which aren't too popular lol!). But boosted the CADR to 277 m3/hr.

But can't find on qoo10 or elsewhere....yet. Too new I guess.
But don't worry too much for those who bought the 2014 AX40H5000GMD.
The new models are way too expensive. You definitely won't find it at $238.

It consumes 47W, guns the air out at 367 m3/hr

The AX60 is same in wattage but 688 m3/hr and oly 48dB. AX70 at 778 m3/hr and 70W but pretty noisy at low 54 dBA if i remember correctly.....so it will present issues during sleep time.

Used to be on sale at $615 on qoo10 but now no more. Tower design, slightly bigger than Xiaomi.

Had checked out the HEPA filter from the local auto shop. Its not cheap at $48 for that small piece of filter. Will post pics of that locally available filter later. Didnt buy it because when i went to the website, it was non-existent. So, didnt trust it.

BTW, I have ALLWed this seller before........he uses F9 media for his filters. I was asking if he uses H11 or H12 PP Polypropylene and he mentioned F9, so I presume he knows what he's talking about.

It's about 55-60 ug/m3 now at South. Or PSI 100-110 spot (not 3-hr or even 1hr)

Is can jog, but don't over-exert and do maciam like 2.4km test standard.
