For the AX40, is it necessary to switch on the ionizer? What does ionizer do anyway?

Upz for you, I want to know about the ionizer/virus Doctor too. I've left it off because I agar agar know that ozone causes difficulty in breathing, but bro wrx said before ozone level is very very low in this AP

So should turn on or not?

Any experts kind to explain?

The VirusDoctor generates active hydrogen and oxygen ion, which forms Hydroperoxy radicals (HOO–). It reacts with virus and turns into harmless water vapor (H2O) Also the active hydrogen (H) combines with OH-radical and forms water vapor, neutralizing harmful OH-radical.

search virus doctor in thread. got post a few videos

some ionizer charge up negative/positive ions so dust particles attracts together, make it falls. so not just ozone, what if u use pure ionizer without air purifier, what happens to all the extra dust created if u dont clean the air? more dust.

It's weird. Some filters /APs do have that new smell. But it shouldn't be VERY offensive, and goes away after 24 to 48 max hours of being switched on. The Taobao HEPAs have this smell, but goes away fast, I mean you'd notice it at first and then the next thing it's biz as usual the very next day you use it.....just purified air.

Even my Midea KJ30NV started to give me very fresh smelling air with the 3M Filtrete aircon filter. (granted, my room is very small and I was gunning close to 10 ACH).
No need ioniser or anything. And I used it on Sep 12th onwards, which was the very happening 200gm/3 (AQI 250) period, Sumatran haze.

Any recommendation on where to get filter for Midea? Those on taobao looks shady with their reviews. Mine is going to reach full charcoal black stage.
