Just order from Apple Store online, if shop's stocks arrive earlier, just cancel online order. I suspect most orders will be delivered much earlier now that Inventac ramps up the production.

If you have Apple Watch then those functions are easily controlled from Apple Watch.

I do have the apple watch. It's still a hassle, you have to raise your arms, tap the side button, scroll to the music app and tap forward, and if you keep pressing skip, the watch lags and doesnt keep up.

I've been using Apple Watch since the second week of its introduction last year but I'm not getting any AirPods, and my music player is my 6s Plus, and my Apple Watch is connected to my main phone, which is 7 Plus.
