I tried and it is not as good in terms of sound isolation if you are comparing against IEM. Technology wise, it is awesome

AirPods or EarPods is never about sound isolation. Apple is not targeting that market. If you want sound isolation, then go with IEM but you will miss the seamless integration and no-wires feel.

If you look at this video, you'll notice there appears to be a kind of foam cover you can get for the AirPods. I'm guessing it will probably help in increasing the sound isolations.

Thou Apple Air/EarPods have always been open style headphones without much isolation

Some of the retailers have stock during the first week of launch and I have exposed one retailer that sold their stock at resell price. I believe they have limited stock but they chose not to release them publicly yet.
