Apple has determined that a small percentage of AirPods Pro may experience sound issues. Affected units were manufactured before October 2020.

An affected AirPods Pro may exhibit one or more of the following behaviors:

  • Crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments, with exercise or while talking on the phone
  • Active Noise Cancellation not working as expected, such as a loss of bass sound, or an increase in background sounds, such as street or airplane noise

Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will service the affected AirPods Pro (left, right or both), free of charge.

Note: No other AirPods models are part of this program

Service Process
Choose one of the service options below to have your AirPods Pro serviced. Your AirPods Pro will be examined prior to any service to verify that they are eligible for this program. AirPods Pro (left, right or both) with a confirmed issue will be replaced. The AirPods Pro case is not affected and will not be replaced.

  • Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
  • Make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store.
  • Contact Apple Support.

Additional Information
This worldwide Apple program doesn't extend the standard warranty coverage of the AirPods Pro.

The program covers affected AirPods Pro for 2 years after the first retail sale of the unit.

Thanks for the alert! I just had a recent experience that my left AirPod keeps having this background noise despite turning on noise cancellation. I thought the noise was due to the ear piece rubber not fitting and so I changed to the largest size. After change, the problem seemed to go away. Anyway I had reserve a time next week to have it check it out.

think you misunderstood and i also edited my post. noticed they said for units made before oct 2021.

what they are saying is. if you bought ur APP at launch and never buy AC+. by now no more warranty. but because this is a manufacturing defect, they will cover it up to Oct 2021.

i recently got my APP, i think getting AppleCare still worth it right? cause it will cover any battery issues. :s12:

Yep. Also if you get AppleCare your don’t have to meet the Oct 2021 deadline as ur APP will still be cover for 2 years from the date of your purchase

I managed to get an appointment and the Genius guy did a 1-1 exchange for me.

First is plug in to his macbook. They can diagnose battery life, etc.
Then sound check need to backroom.

Took 5mins come out say mine got problem with ANC. Changed both for me.

:o
I hope new ones will be better.
