hi everyone

i am goin shanghai next week
download alipay go through all setup, bind uob cc and verified acc.
no issues
just now walk past saw 7-11 show can pay using alipay but jialat payment failed

go search all info on web n see so many youtube video n dun know wats wrong
stressed already

anyone can give advise?
isit need to change something in alipay settings?

Your version of alipay cannot work if vendors are outside china.

Try testchinapay.com to see whether you are able to pay a small sum

Because if you are testing in SG's 7-11, it accepts only the Mainland Chinese Alipay.
The Alipay that you have is a global version for foreigners that is strictly for usage in China only.

getting china number is easy .....just walk in telco n ask a package
than chg the package in app for only 8rmb a mth to maintain it


getting bank acc all dpend on luck esp for tourist
so if passby can walk in n try else no point for visitor who go once a year

So for those store that mentioned you need to pay 59rmb per month and can only change after 1 year, that can be overcome by going to the app directly to change?

probaly went to tourist shop. If you go non tourist one, can apply 8rmb from china mobile. I was charged 8rmb only

Can check which town did you apply from or if there any way to tell which is not a tourist shop

Direct debit from your linked cc, no need to add fund.

alipay now added a travel wallet in the "my" menu section, which must be activated, and can top up, similar to the recent wechat new feature. it shows up as a separate category from the wallet balance. i do not know if activated, will the balance be merged with the other wallet balance or not.

i did not activate as i still have wallet balance.

u can use touch and go app in china, they allow payment in china

I use alipay, WeChat, tng and carry cash. so no nonsense will happen

i did not go into all the details, it should be similar to the recent wechat wallet top up, probably not so favorable rates if transfer from local banks.

It should be stated
