Why property price still high high but reits shares dipping?
Correct me if i am wrong. Reits are for business and property are for residential, though both are physical buildings. Reits are like rents collections and property are more like sales. Same same but different.

I have a question regarding dividends and taxes.

The way I understand it, income/dividends from REITs, unit trusts and ETFs is not taxable, is that correct? How about when you sell the REIT or ETF? Does that need to be declared?

Also if you buy a bond ETF, taxation-wise, does it fall under ETF taxation or Bond taxation? In other words do you need to declare the payouts for tax purposes?

Thanks

none of the bond etfs on sgx require you to pay tax.

US listed ones yes- 30% withholding tax.

Hi all, been reading through (now page 10), looking for answers as I thought it is a rather noob question. But no clear answer yet.

From what I understand, as long as you bought before ex-div date, you are eligible for the payout right? So it doesn't matter how long before you bought before hand?

In the sense, if I accumulate all my funds for example 3 days before ex-div date to concentrate on 1 or 2 Reit which I speculate to have a healthy yield, there would be no different if I bought it 2-3 months back (maybe one week after payout)?

Apologies for the noob questions. Will continue to go through the thread meanwhile...

I see. Thank you. Can you also share if it is possible, and how do I choose the option to reinvest my dividend returns if I were to use custodian account like tiger or moomoo? For stocks and reits

From what I understand, when payout, I will receive the amount back to my custodian brokerage account on payout date. So to enjoy compound returns for next payout, how can I do so?

I realised not a lot discussion on dividends, and reading articles online tend to be a big technical
