It is pre configured for SingTel out of the box. If you can flash and overwrite its firmware using the original manufacturer's version, perhaps. Not sure if this device is specially designed and made for SingTel though.

Unfortunately, it is. There is no other firmware available and aztech will not attempt to provide technical support unless told otherwise..

No it is not. you just need to disable DHCP and assign it a static IP thats all.

hi guys, i am on the aztech 7003 router and i have as many as 10 devices connect to my network every day at home. The router has been in my room with a wifi extender outside. i plan to buy a new router and shift it to the living room so everybody can have a better connection speed without using extender. Anybody got a bang for buck router to recommend? And is changing to aftermarket router just plug and play?

since a bro has recommended ac5300, i shall recommend,

- Linksys EA9500
These 2 models are currently support MU-MIMO and it works out of the box. It supports up to 8 mu-mimo devices on the 5Ghz bands and that it has smart connect too.

If you want just a basic router with cheaper price tag, TP-Link Archer C3200 might be suitable as well..

Thanks for the recommendation. I read that MU-MIMO technology is still new and there are very little devices that supports thats(im sure all my devices dont). Are there any routers that are not overkill for my case, work right out of the box and will be a substantial upgrade from my current aztech 7003GRV when place in the living room?

Hmm, generally most of the routers nowadays can last for 3 years with their 1-1 exchange policy if faulty. Tp-Link, linksys and Asus are examples of such brands. As such, you might wanna consider to look forward just in case you have devices that support in time to come.

Samsung latest devices support mu-mimo, such as note 7 and s7 series. These devices work well with linksys ea9500. I am using note 7 and ea9500 and I can say it really works, but don't expect it to revolutionize Wi-Fi performance though.

7003 is a 3x3 wireless a.c. router, if so, you might wanna consider the AC3200 routers available. If not, Asus ac68u or tplink c3200 might be a bang for buck router for you. I have never seen a router cheaper than tplink archer c3200 yet, asus's equivalent AC3200 is priced at 300 plus while tplink c3200 is of low 300.

Of course, if none of your Wi-Fi device is of a.c. standard, then no point considering any 3rd party router.. :D

Just asking, why can I only plug into the LAN 1 port of my ONT? The other ports do not light up..

yup pretty much all ISP only allows lan 1 of the ONT to be activated, other ports can be activate if under the same isp but different plan.

anyway just asking some of those still using this router.

do u experience any speed difference between the download speed and up load speed?

i did a few test and happen to find out i have my download been reduce about maybe 2x the speed of my upload speed.

here is my result:

on ethernet (Edge browser)
5748770684.png

on 2.4Ghz (Edge brower)
5748802209.png
(at least this seems normal)

on 5Ghz (edge brower)
5748805581.png

Speed plans: 500mbps
Testing Laptop :Lenovo T400
Intel® 82579LM Gigabit Ethernet (LAN)
Intel® WiFi Link 5100 (wifi card)

so may i ask is this consider the router issues or singtel issues?

cos i have done test from my mobile as well and getting similar results
