I guess users still on Asus x79 series like me are more or less f$&K as we will need the BIOS update with the microcode?

As of now, you are double ****ed because:
1) Intel has not released any microcode update for Sandy Bridge\Ivy Bridge yet.
2) ASUS doesn't seem to be providing any BIOS update for pre-Skylake (except for two late released X99 boards).

Among all the MB manufacturers, only Asus released news update?! Others no sound no picture?! :o

Maybe priority given to newer models first?! :)

Thanks for pointing out network possibilities. Delete update folder - nope, disable firewall - nope, disabled AV realtime proteksion - nope, reset DNS from Google DNS (because VQ keep screwing up their DNS) - 0 to 3%! :s12:

Hope it continues and doesn't get stuck there!

Suggest you check your cpu cooler mounting, change thermal paste, clean the heatsink/radiator.

Wah recently my Firefox browser was updated to mitigate the two vulnerability issues.

Seems to cause constant lagging in loading issues. I guess have to live with this performance hit until I upgrade my CPU again. :s22:
