this is capitalism.

what are these condo expecting? govt backed loan? whats next? govt susbsidy lift replacement? they want sers too?

if owner find the condo old, then just sell it, be it at a loss or profit.

now govt is allowing HDB owners to die with the decay lease, what kind of umbrage will the govt create if they are going to help these rich owners.

They want gahmen to en-bloc them if nobody else wants to.

Now talk of VERS comes out, at least HDB will have a parachute, disregarding how well it will work.

Old condos can jitao jump into Bedok Reservoir or fall from Manila Bay Sands riao!

BUT they don't want to shoulder the financial burdens of upgrading (or worse, plain old maintaining) their homes?

LOL.

Sinkies only see short term gains => to flip 5 year old HDB, buy new condo, flip new condo etc

never see long term one... recipe for future headaches....

Some owners are just landlords, they don't experience the day-to-day inconvenience hence they don't care. And some owners have a very low standard of how things should function or look, they don't see a need to upgrade.

Just sell the old condo and move to the newer one whenever this happens, where got headache.

Many people in Hdb also do the same thing, sell the old Hdb when old, and move to the newer one. Confirm no headache.

Last when I young, I see my friend every few yrs move house, I thought got wat reason. Now then I know move house so that no need to deal with house getting old, then care whether Hdb or condo

Wah, ageing condo problems again. Want stronger rules but don’t wanna pay more—classic Singaporean dilemma lah. šŸ˜‚ Maintenance fund always the killer, but if never repair, later even worse. Tough sia! #CondoLife #ResidentComplaint

I live in an older condo but because we got 500+ units, our maintenance + stinking fee ain't high. The resident committee members also play a part, if inside is all like old uncles and cheapo kind, u see your property declining like mad. It is not old = sure die factor but multiple issues that kills the property(value).. I have seen condos older than mine and super well kept but they also atas to start with la..

if u wanna buy resale condo, make sure its the bigger development kind, more residents(victims too) to rode in money to upkeep.
