AMD Mobo need K CPU to overclock?!

Mobo: AB350M-gaming 3
CPU: 1300X Ryzen
Bios Ver: F6

Have never overclock my RAM before, felt like trying it today but was unable to change multiplier; the only option I had was auto.

So I thought, let’s try the CPU and when I tried changing the multiplier it says non-K cpu has a lock processor.

I’m confuse now as I thought K was for intel only?

So is K for intel only or both?

Ryzen are overclockable by default. But you can't change the multiplier. You oc by changing the base clock.

Yup thanks. I typo only have clock ratio unless going into advanced.

Ryzens are ALL overclockable via multiplier as long as you are using B350/X370 chipset motherboards.

Lol why you so cute oc 0.2. Iirc that cooler is good till you can push a modest oc of 3.7-3.8 range with considerable amount of vcore.

erh cus didnt had much time to set it up so just up the multiplier to 33 without any change to voltage and just close up and let my family use it liao lol, maybe if i have time i will go back and tinker with it as its my first time OC-ing on AMD platform lol

I am using this board, but don't recall having to press shift and + or - to increase the multiplier to OC.

try swapping the placement of multiplier and base clock bah

(although some boards do have bclk oc)

Yes, + and - I am aware. But TS was saying he needed to press Shift & +/- is quite strange. Pressing Shift is redundant I believe. At least I did not press Shift when changing any values on the same motherboard.

All B350 and X370 boards can overclock via multiplier

1300X can overclock quite a fair bit, but be careful. The Wraith Stealth cooler it comes with is nowhere near as imbar and overengineered as its larger Wraith Spire sibling
