i thought it's supposed to be 270? anyway thanks for the preview of 290. getting bored of that stock cooler's performance..
It was....

I was shortly informed by email that a 270 is incoming so I was mentally prepared for a small card.

Card arrived, duly labeled as a 270 but looked way too long for a 270. Somehow it had grown and mutated while in transit, gaining gravitas transforming into a 290. Looks like a good sample some more... posting the ASIC quality score together with the other screenshots soon.

Definitely I am not complaining, would you? :D

Nice pictures and card ! MOAR!!
Glad you like it, thanks.

Moar coming soon. :)

thats good ****! lol back to the days where amd cpu that can unlock! SWEET!!

Actually GPU unlock has already been in practice since HD 6900s era. Remembering how people bought their reference HD 6950 and unlocking them into HD 6970...

hmm thanks for the info. i didnt know that.
Still have one such 6950@6970 card in my storeroom, only the early batches were unlockable cos later batches were laser cut at the factory. Guess that's part of what makes AMD fun, unlockable CPUs and GPUs... free cores, cache and shaders.

As for 290 -> X unlocks, overall info seems not too promising at the present moment. =:p
