You will need to wait for benchies for the answer.

Generally, Threadripper has 12 or 16 cores which would benefit productivity programs which can make use of the cores. For gaming, no point.

It's targeted at workstations. So if you run a lot of VMs, do rendering, intense multi-core workloads, it will be fantastic.

First and foremost is bragging right la..other than that buy Pentium G4560 for gaming.

I hope this launch will be better than what we had for ryzen7, but looking at it so far, it doesn't seem like the cooling solution availability will be able to match the demand. Sure, the brackets will help up, but I don't think most people wanting it wants to use a stop gap solution

This type of cpu is not for everyone. More for people whom wanna use for VM, their own workstation etc. To use it for gaming is pointless, games usually cant even use that many cores.

Or if you are an enthusiast then yes, spending top dollars for it is nothing.

You could host a fantastic gaming *server* or use it to compile games.

Im still thinking whether should i go for TR or just use AM4. The only reason i would buy TR would be the 8 slots of rams and 64 pcie lanes given on every processor. Unlike intel giving limited pcie lanes when buying such an expensive cpu.

Another thing to consider, TR definitely not so fast to find waterblocks.
