Late October VS Early November. Not much difference leh. Unless they postpone till June 2021. Nov Dec Jan.

Doesn't make a difference. Zen 3 is contracted to TSMC while Ampere is contracted to Samsung. 2 different foundaries altogether.

if u are comparing "GHZS" between architectures and even companies, i have nothing to say to u. the 5600x with 20% ipc improvement will perform almost as good as a 3700x while having much better single core performance.

my opinion is amd still wins on value, because going 10600k means u must get a z490 for oc and ram suport, must get a good cooler (200w+ cpu).

a b450/b550 already has good enough vrms for a 3600x + slight oc, cpu coms with a stock cooler (probably spire? not great but its better than not having one.

add all together and u save 200$+ on the amd platform.

Like i said the 3000 series a great value unlike the 5000 but we are comparing the newest gen offers to the other newer gen offer.

I think just wait for reviews and benchmarks by popular reviewers. 3080 and 3090 promised alot but it wasn't exactly day and night difference. But AMD, I think they genuinely have a good CPU this time that can drastically change people's choices. But like all things, best to wait and see the reviews and the setup of the configuration before confirming the gains. Also, at launch, I'm not sure if most boards would already have bios firmware to support these CPUs properly and even if they did, it would be a first release. Sure to have small bugs.

No... Cpu is always upgrade after 2-3 gen...

Personally, I probably get the 5700X to replace my i5 3570k that died last year. It was a NAS/game server.

Why not the 5900x? Coz I found my sweet spot, my use case rarely peaks past 8-10 threads. 16threads is more than sufficient.
Currently personal rig is i7 6900k, but I lost silicon lottery...4.2ghz is stable oc. But the heat and power draw is not comfortable.

If the 5600x outperforms in the 3700x in both and for the same price, then its easier to choose. But most likely the 5600x will outperform the 3700x in games but lost out in productivity and multi core.

clock speed has no meaning between architectures LOL. its like comparing a 13000 rpm bike to a 7000 rpm supercar and calling the supercar rubbish.

Yes so unless Ure gaming at 1080p, actually it doesn’t matter. The cores are still good for computing work, if that’s what you are into.

Sucks to be gen1 adopters, if upgrade now, needs to hoot new board together with the CPU, since the x370 chipset can't support these 5000s cpus, and there will be no more upgrade path for AM4.

Probably next best option is to get 3700x, slap onto current board and wait for future release.

While it looks like intel is more value for money from what you've posted above, I'd be hard pressed to find these intel cpus from retailers at those prices you've posted currently.
