Amy Khor is right on rental does not affect food price. Home-based cafe without the need to pay rental also charge u $4.50 for latte

Cannot lah. Edmwer expect people to only profit 50 cent per cup, more than that is called greedy. So selling 100 cup only profit 50$.

Even part timer at mac can earn more than this.

If surrounding got cockroach infestation, can sue home cafe or not? Then under business law, criminal law, case, or town council?
Actually how to judge whether the food or drinks produced in home cafes are clean and safe for consumption? In eateries there are guidelines to follow and hygiene grading pasted

Can only base on trust. If kena food poisoning, the home based owners can say you one day eat 3 meals, confirm is kena from the other 2 meals. You can only LLST because there is no law or agency to held them accountable.

Since home based business also generate income, then will have to pay income tax.
If HDB never keep tab, then these no need pay income tax since never register??

The coffee beans and Matcha Powder, etc. they using probably is those Starbucks-kind one.

Think they got no economies of scale to offer cheaper than those chain stalls.

After all these kind of beveragee require all those equipments and tools, etc.

Unless you want them to sell normal kopi like those coffee shops kind, then will be cheaper. Since just brew the beans and just pour via the sock.

Think the customers they have, too little to recover back on the equipment and tools, etc. + the maintenance ba. After all, HDB so small.

Those landed properties home-cafes probably sell abit cheaper, because they got enough space to accommodate more customers.
Matcha confirm can recover. Alot of kum lan paying for premium matcha say the taste got dragon and phoenix but order flavored like strawberry matcha latte. End up u taste strawberry jam in milk with some green coloring

If market rate is $4.50, just sell at $4.50.

If geh kiang sell at $2, consumers will assume yours is an inferior product.

Such is human nature.
