Think this sort of further confirm the observation why those so call FT from don't know where, with don't know what qualification, can easily beat locals to good job.

Its the money, how cheap one can go. Doesn't matter as much the qualifications. See the money first. :s22:

In my recent experiment, I applied to two different positions at the same company: one junior role and one senior role.

Junior role:
I wrote a well-crafted resume and cover letter, showing my relevant experience and skills. I did not indicate my expected salary. After one month of application submission, I didn't hear back from them.

Senior role:
Subsequently, I applied for the senior role, which required two years of experience, through a job portal with minimal effort. I did not send my resume and cover letter, simply stating my desired salary (which was $1000 lower than what the company was offering) and indicating one year of experience.

Result:
The results were surprising. Within a day of submitting my application for the senior role, the company reached out to express their interest in interviewing me :ROFLMAO: . This prompt response was in contrast to the lack of response to my carefully crafted application for the junior role.

So, what did I learn from this experiment?

Despite the minimal effort put into my application for the senior role, the lower salary expectation seemed to capture the company's attention. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Actually use buckside think also can deduce.
Of coz employers prefer Cheaper younger fts despite their english kns.

Oh, I forgot to add, that I also gave a fake mobile number. Within 2 hours of viewing my resume, the owner of the company (small company) wrote me an email stating that they tried to call me on that number but couldn't reach me and would like to have my alternative number so we can arrange for an interview meet up :ROFLMAO:

I am shocked beyond understanding that a lousy, effortless 3-minute job application can make the employer so desperate to get me, while a well-crafted resume, with an inspirational cover letter received no response.

If anyone has any insight into this case, please feel free to share.
You probably applied for some small SME company where their priority is about cost. Try doing it to big MNC and you will probably get different results

This can get you into trouble, bro. I broke into cold sweat for you. Better don't do such things in the future.

You don't have to go through that extent, really. In fact it is common sense. Who doesn't want a cheaper worker assuming the capability is not that important and can be picked up over a short time? If I am an employer I would also pick the cheaper quote. Your job nature is not that specialized; many foreign nurses can be trained to do that.
What trouble when none of my information is real?

Plus, it wasn't for a nursing role. It's a specialised role within the medical field.

As an interviewer, I skip the cover letter because the applicant has ways and means and time to craft a clever letter to bring good impression to himself. I just read his declared skillset, experiences and qualifications.

As an interviewee, I don't send the cover letter. I find it redundant.

Maybe that's why I don't have much career progression after so many years.. lol

Exactly. That's what I suspect as well.

My application for the junior role with a well-crafted resume, and cover letter, with relevant experience and skill, didn't get a response. I didn't include my expected salary and if I could work on weekends and public holidays.

For the senior role, no effort was made by me- no resume, no cover letter. Only indicate a $2000 salary (job posted $3000 to $4000), one year experience (they required two years), and availability on weekends and public holidays, got me a quick reply.

Naive, you have not seen the world yet.

When I was younger I applied for a few jobs which the HR said do not need interviews. These jobs do not need prior experience (for example IT and desktop support, we were sent to a private computer school to learn for 1.5 weeks). It is direct acceptance one you know? What if the employer is this type and they accept you for the job based on your fake credentials and cv? You might be reported and charged. This is a cheating case already.

You are lucky you did not get accepted instantly (with no interview required). If they go and probe further into your cv, you are done. You should count yourself lucky they have not done that.

Yea you make the best resume with awesome template put asking salary $6000 vs resume with no template one page only, spacing issue asking salary $5000, many would prefer the latter.

Important is the relevant skillset and experience, not how nice the resume is.

You are the one who is naive.

I conducted an experiment after my first resume with real qualifications was ghosted, and you believe I will go to the extent of the job interview after posting a tester resume? :ROFLMAO: Silly of you to make such an assumption.

I am amazed that you put in effort to do such an experiment and write a post about it. Isnt it obvious?

You misinterpreted and misread my post.

While my resume was well written with relevant skillsets and experience, it was not the fancy awesome template you assumed. Plus, the well-crafted resume did not indicate salary.

You got the interview. Did you get the job?
I didn't arrange for an interview with them, despite them asking for my alternative number to contact me. This is for an experiment after my real resume with qualifications and experiences was ghosted.

at the end of the day it’s all about the bottom line isn’t it ?

if a butcher tells you beautiful story about how his cow called “Maria” was grass fed, raised from calf, massaged and even talked to daily. And then tells you that he will cut the nicest piece of tenderloin for you, but declines to provide a price tag for it.

Vs a $5/100gm. Tenderloin on “reduced to clear” at Cold Storage…. Which beef would you buy. 😂
