Just watchedd a summarized version of the IO.

The new updates to Google Maps - where they show more granular data such as crosswalks is interesting. But one feature was also it can show how busy a place is (e.g restaurant). How the **** google knows how busy the place is? I suppose it will be based on the GPS via the phone app of people in the area?

Anyway - the UI changes, is it really that radical? I think it is an extension to the material design. Kinda feel it take a bit of reference from iOS.

For roads - I thought they used satellite to see? But if a restuarant is indoor, how they see?

my 3xl no this problem. that's why different phones experience different issues. everyone's mileage is different. i hate the sparkling animation ...
