And also... I consumed all my duplicate 6* heroes cos I didn't know... *facepalm*

do remember, your hero must ALREADY be +5 and you need to select the ENHANCE option and insert the exact same hero AND grade (the option will be highlighted), you'll see the right side button light up with the words "0 Limit Break" (it costs 0 gold)
(i.e. to limit break a +5 6* lvl 30 Li, you'll need a 6* Li)
You don't need to get the hero you are using as food to lvl up or to be enhanced.
some 6*s are not really worth limit breaking.
Generally you'll only limit break heroes that are in your core team...or if you happen to have a set of spare runes to plonk onto that hero...
I find the main issue of why we will not keep and LB ALL 6* is simply because you do not have enough runes for them all to use. (doesn't make sense to spend gems to remove and re-rune)
So generally you'll only keep the top tier heroes. Of course there are some mid-tier heroes that keep appearing so often, and with sufficient limit breaks they become pretty powerful.
Also, it's pretty easy to limit break some 5* heroes with max potential at 5*.
