I used Android TV OS on smart Android TV. I prefer the normal type of Android, no need sideload apps. No need Netflix and amazon prime 4k. I have spare S905x3 box at home. So dun need this.

I believe it is tough now unless you find someone with Alipay or Wechat pay to pay for you. Or maybe there are websites which offer such services. I do not know.

Once you pay for the VIP, then you can watch many shows without China VPN (like Transocks or AJS or things like that). But some shows will still be blocked and will still require VPN. This is the same as Tencent Video.

As for the app, you should be able to download the apk here.

Yes. Or you can try WeTV as well which is the internation version of Tencent Video.

some shows are blocked outside china even for subscribers. if you want to watch them , without using vpn, use other apps , such as, iyingshi or mudvod. these are free apps catered for overseas chinese. google for official site and download the tv version apps.

Sideload Launcher should be okay. There are others but I have never used them.

Think the TV becomes too slow if you install too many apps. Bloated.

If you want to watch TV fast, you have to get tv that loads within 2 seconds.

Today Smart TV can even be faster than tv box. Esp. when u got a low end box.
eg. a sony smart tv load faster than my ubox.
The only different is Ubox come with the iptv and the VOD where the Smart TV is bare.
However, if you are able to setup your own iptv and load your own vod app you will be surprise that the smart tv is a better choice.
Power up and wait for it to get loaded and u are ready to go.
No need extra electricity, save the extra box money, no extra cable and another device to take care.
The future will be smart TV, however as of now Smart Android or Google TV dont have that many app to support
you will need some technical ability to get it setup
