dunno when this new option was added to WhatsApp on iOS. is there no such option added on Android?

So recently my Dad’s android phone battery bloated and there’s a spare iPhone. Used the Dr. Fone WhatsApp Transfer to perform the Android to iOS transfer.

It works flawlessly! Just that the latest 2 days messages were not transferred. Other than that, all photos and data were transferred

The last step was confusing, have to use the “Change Number” to switch back to my Dad’s number. Lucky he was not automatically leave the groups.

Initially I was very skeptical on this software, afraid of privacy issue. Now I am a fan!

if i remember correctly this is only applicable if u use Samsung phone. not applicable to the rest of the android brand

it’s not. it’s for all Android phones but needs to be on v12 of e OS. 12 released last yr so not sure how many brands have it available for their users

This news falls a week after Apple announced new iOS 16 additions to its Messages app that include being able to unsend or edit sent messages.

WhatsApp still can’t edit msg tho

Do not activate your new iphone first. WhatsApp transfer is not yet available for move to ios...unless you are whatsapp beta tester. Even then, you might need to wait a week or more as a beta user in android before you can see the WhatsApp transfer option in your move to ios app.

Last time need to pay for license to do trf from android to iOS. Glad fb comes up with something

Yeah seems like they have the solution. Do not need to require 3rd party apps anymore.
