Any experience with SUSS?

Just want to know if it is painful to do my degree there. Cos I heard drop out very high

I studied there for 2 semesters in 2018 (BICT) , then dropped out coz I cannot cope (my full time job required frequent OT.) During orientation was informed by school that 50% drop out by the first year. I think that period is when suss was going from private(sim) to public university so lots of syllabus changes.
My personal experience is that lessons are fast paced, there are TMAs that have very very tight deadline.(sat release question, Sunday night have to submit).
And suss is also known as Singapore university of self study....
Overall:
Pros : sch fees subsidised, cheaper than private.
Study part-time.
Cons : a lot of self study required
No credit exemptions ( I have relevant diploma but need to start from y1s1).
Hope this helps!
In the end I chose to save up and pursue my degree at sim-uow full time.

Thank you so much for your sharing. Can share further you feel whether it make sense for them to do all these arrangement? I feel it is totally waste of everybody time if it is so high a drop out.

Sound like they tried to impose the rigorness of local uni full time course onti suss.

It's a fact not anyhow say lah. Simi coy see suss grads the same as nus. Imo suss is same tier as sim / kaplan grads

Where's your source of information? What's the official drop out rate ?

You need to interview the students there, i don't have answer for you.

Doesn't matter. Just get the one quickest and step out to working world.
It doesn't matter what uni you are from once you are in working world. This is because it is not your peers from local uni who will compete with you, but AI, FTs and investors of companies trying ways to increase their profit margins by forcing c level executives to implement reorg and headcount reductions.

when I was still studying there, there were hatred between PT and FT students
now i dont know. left few years ago, never bothered to follow up on what they are doing now.

as well as specific offerings ie social work, logistics , early childhood education , and one or two more

umm. but working adults have work and for some family commitments. can’t fully cater to these realities.

I feel that they are trying to match up with the academic rigor of other local uni like nus ntu.. and they prioritize that over the passing rate? my poly classmate took same course as me in suss manage to graduate in 5years. So got ppl can tahan and grad de, but must consider carefully and look at other uni/options also then see which is the best for you.
For part time courses max number of years to complete your degree is 8 years. Not sure if it's the same now.
Also can apply bursary if per Capita income (household total income/total number of person in household) less than certain amt. Per sem can get 200-500? I think. Back then during my 1st sem my basic salary was low so still can get the $200 bursary. 2nd sem not eligible le.

some project modules is mixed FT and PT students, back then during my days the problem is always FT students blame PT students for lack of effort while PT students complain FT students they never consider that the PT students are working full time while studying.

but in actual fact, their complaints apply to both FT and PT students.

there are FT students who thinks that PT students drag down the name of the school also.

FT students study slightly more modules, but number of lessons is the same as PT (6 lessons per module)

also, back then SUSS encourage self-study so much that some modules got cut down to 3 lessons also (but fees never go down...)

It is still 8 years maximum. I studied for 4.5 years.

this is correct. the paper cert itself is just the key to the first lock, after that is on your own.

1st year, 2 full classes, appx 60+ pax students.

2nd year, same.

3rd year, only 1 class of 20+ pax students.
