Wierd. I received a call from a contractor engaged by Opennet. They told me they want to come to "activate the second port of my TP" or something like that because apparently first port is still leased to Nucleus Connect.

Because I was puzzled at what's going on, I repeatedly confirmed with him that there will be no installation of another TP. He assured me they r coming down just to activate the port.

ViewQwest, do you know if the second port is not activated by default? I thought both ports are active once ready for service. I believe they were arranged by Opennet which in turn was arranged by you

Mass roll-out FTP installations will only have 1st port activated.

Now this is really forward looking for VQ.

No need to sign up. It will be auto enabled. We will be sending you information on your static IP.

Congrats!

I am really pleased that I signed up with VQ. It really appears that there are people in this management team who spend time thinking of what the consumer needs and wants... Not like the typical ISPs who promise high speed but whose only focus is to squeeze every ounce of dollars from the user without giving the appropriate service. Very refreshing and impressive. Thank you.

Considering that we now have 100-200mbps bandwidth, Static Ip will really help us think of how to fully utilize our fiber. I hope that your users will share on your forum on how they 'apply' their static ip and the types of possible services that they run.

There are some who fear that this privilege will be abused.... I guess there will be those who will take advantage but I believe that people who sign up for high speed bandwidth ie. 100-200mbps have an idea of why they are signing up for such speeds, not just bit torrent. Anyway anyone thinking of becoming the next Mr dot.com but too cheap to have their own 24/7 servers are already planning for failure.

I hope that VQ will benefit from more sign up and create a blazing trail in the broadband battle, leaving dust around for all the other ISPs to see that giving to the people the rights to technology is the way to go.

Cheers!
You have found yourself another voluntary salesman. No commissions necessary - just keep up the great service and forward looking roll outs.

Nope the static IP is now included in our standard plans.

The MAC address the static IP is to be tied to has to be provided to us. If there is a change in the device. You need to contact our NOC to reassign the MAC.

The fully qualified domain name will be of the format xxxxxx.fibernet.sg - if you have your own domain name you will be able to configure it yourself.

On fibre net 100mbps. Does this mean I get static IP to? And how do I know what my "xxxxxx" portion in the fibernet.sg address is?

Yes all customers on Fibernet 100 will receive a static ip address. With regards to the hostname "xxxxxx" portion. We will allow you to select your own name as long as it is still available and subject to our approval.

So subscribers will have to wait for the form to be emailed to them? How to select the host name

Hi ViewQwest, this IPTV bundle promo for existing customers on the Fiber 100, how much do i need to top up besides the $5 increase per month? Is the WD TV given free or need to pay again? Please note I activated my line in April so the Zhone is already paid upfront in the bill (Which I should be receiving on the next cycle according to Rubi). Also now that you have converted the upfront payment of Zhone to rental basis and I'm on a 1 year contract, so does that means I have to pay additional rental of 5.35 from the 13th month onwards which will make it $70 (65+5) per month?

if u alr upfront payment, effectively should be from 25th month onwards then the rental will take effect.

I asked them a similar question.

1) IPTV belongs to you
2) No need to top up anything
3) No need to pay rental as you own the Zhone already, however no refund either as you cannot convert to rental basis

the zhone as mention by viewqwest is now a property of VQ, and the rental will cover the warranty after 2yrs. refer to this post http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/66343493-post1782.html

if you subscribe direct the iptv bundle, no top up. fibernet 100 to 100+iptv bundle, topup the difference of $5.05
