Any here do undervolt for GPU and CPU?

Hi guys, I have been watching youtube for undervolting as I changed to ITX case.

For GPU, I'm currently using on RTX 3080 Ventus OC.
0.9mV @ 1935Mhz using MSI afterburner.
Only tested using Unigine Heavan 4.0
Got a score of 6988
Min FPS: 55.3
Max FPS: 550.2
Temp: Max 67 deg (HWMonitor)

Curious what settings u guys have and what software u guys test with?

Do you also undervolt your CPU too?

Heaven 4.0 benchmark only support up to DX11.

for 3080 I think best is to use TimeSpy from 3DMark with DX12 for benchmarks and it is can download from Steam free using Demo version.

I only undervolt GPU.

I gave up on undervolting for my gpu. 925mv @ 1948mhz only gives me 2c drop lol. I know I can go lower until before boost clock but what's the point when I bought a top end aib. Maybe I'm doing it wrongly though

I use afterburner and bright memory infinite raytracing benchmark. That one good for stability testing especially for gpu

I'll probably undervolt the cpu as even with better cooling my boost is stuck at 4.6ghz 60c with PBO on, will probably still hit 4.6ghz with lowered voltages

i have a quad core n3450 use to torrent, reupload files.

if i set cpu to 70%, the voltage is 0.7125v and cpu stays below 4w and fans stop spinning

Even at this low speed, converting 1080p videos using intel quicksync is still faster than realtime.

uses less power than raspberry pi 4

My GPU has been running at 80% power limit since day one. I will be doing the same for the RTX 3070 when I get around to installing it.

Don't think there is any point to undervolting the CPU.

I went down to 0.85mV for 1900Mhz.
Max Temp still around 67~68 deg
Idle is 53 Deg

I think anything below 1.1V should be good? My out of box max voltage is around 1.1volts

You may try both 1900Mhz & 1850Mhz frquency and check:

1. the point variance for both settings
2. the report will show your GPU temperature after the test
3. it also test your CPU capabilities

Best results if you can close all backgroup program & windows before testing.

I just ran the 3D mark Demo.

My temps seems like a bit lower from 84 deg to 78 deg after I tried using pliers to tighten the CPU block I scared tighten too much but also scared not tight enough. Jia lat ****... lol

You may try both 1900Mhz & 1850Mhz frquency and check:

Speaking of undervolting gpu, I saw several youtube videos. All like decrease the overall core clock first like 280-300 mhz, then increase back from around ~825 mv. What’s the purpose of decreasing overall clock first?

Using the same card as you, with the stock cooler. I went with 800mv/1815, +600 on the memory clock. I found that anything higher than 800mv for me, the temperature drop isn't significantly different from stock. I definitely lost a little bit of performance going this low, but I'm okay with the trade-off in terms of power/heat, since I have a bit of a warm pc case. Card runs about 70 degrees doing Heaven, and idles at about 43 degrees.

Most games I'm playing don't even utilise the max speed of the 3080; Sekiro for example, runs at about 1100mhz.

It's to get the underclock/undervolt curves first.

Your undervolted GPU score is reasonable range.

For the cpu score seems can be improved better if it is not undervolted. Perhaps can improve through better RAM clock speed/OC profile.

It can help to reduce the power input and generate less heat during game session yet GPU perform at the same limited level constantly without too much fluctuations in GPU clock speed.

Example undervolted GPU can constantly run at 1950MHz @ 68c during the whole session maybe at average 75fps in cyberpunk

Without undervolted GPU can clocking above 2000MHz then drop to 1950MHz and up again and generate more heat @65c~75c inconsistently during game session said between 70fps~85fps.

In this simple example I choose to undervolted my gpu for stability in temperature and stable FPS although it perform slower than standard GPU performance.
