Any here do undervolt for GPU and CPU?

I did under volt my 9th i5 9600K. At heavy CPU workload eg Prime, it will reach thermal limit even with a massive ninja scythe HSF and begin to lower clock speed. Under volt by 0.07 V helps to prevent thermal throttling.

Not sure why he wants to uv 1070Ti as for my case i did not. I went the opposite way - oc the hell out of it as it has beefy cooling.

Have a memory-related question, I have XMP profile set to my ram to run at 3600mhz, but I manually bump it up to 4000mhz without tweaking timings and without any issues. Will this have any effect or it will require timings tweak to see higher performance?

Manually increasing to 4000Mhz with the rest left on Auto would definitely lax your memory timings even more. You may not necessarily be faster infact you could be slower since memory timings on Auto would mean the board would drastically loosen memory timings. Not a good idea unless you tighten your memory timings as well for the given frequency. I'd suggest leaving it on XMP for best performance if you're not familiar with memory overclocking.

Master elmariachi is right, sometime OC more than 4 level of your original recommended xmp memory profile will not be stable in game although it may pass the benchmarks like TimeSpy.

wondering if your 4000mhz timing is the same as per your 3600mhz?

It's XMP enabled + manually set to 4000mhz with everything else left untouched as I couldn't get the DRAM calculator to work properly with my 5600x. Have played all my games/programs with no issues for about a month since I set it. Screenshot wise do you mean in the BIOS? I didn't touch anything else.

Many thanks looking at your post count at this point of time you might have difficult to share screenshot directly.

if you have CPU-Z (Free version) you can check by yourself based on the current reading of the following 4 timing (blue circle) @ Memory tab is it still same as per your RAM advertised speed ?

Example for KLEVV BOLT X 3600MHz RAM on the market normally read 18 - 22 - 22 - 42 upon activated XMP profile / AMD call it D.O.C.P.

if yours 4000MHz reading still remain as 18 - 22 - 22 - 42 or even lower you have a very good RAM kits.

Without any issue reported just continue enjoy your memory OC

Yes, my ram is exactly KLEVV BOLT X set to 4000MHz with 18 - 22 - 22 - 42 on CPU-Z. Assumed my kit was budget but this is nice to know, thanks.

I actually find it pointless unless you do it for thermals for a small form factor PC. Most of the time these GPUs are always limited by power limits in the bios. It's like restricting it again.

Bad and wrong analogy. Shows you don't quite understand.

It's more like buying lambo then go dyno tuning so you get the better fuel/air mix for better efficiency at the same speed. Even if minus 1fps, what's the big deal when you get better thermals and less throttling?

to each his own everyone, some people prefer to squeeze the max out of their hardware, some undervolt to get better thermal at a minimal lost of performance.

End of the day, you happy can liao. If your pc is near you, sometime running warm you might be able to feel the heat coming off your computer also.
