90% of people in DB are awolees, the extreme cases being charged for going out for 15 mins to buy food and end up 7 days db, or 8 months awol charged 5 days db.

awol for 15mins to buy food = 7days DB

awol for 8months = 5 days DB

wtf?

But what the time of AWOL den get yourself lock up...
I know there are real cases where by the PC or any of the commanders are **** up and screw ur life in there but if we can't take it, we have to find solution to solve it.
By AWOLing, is that the best solution unless you can be a rich f*** who can run oversea and stay there dun come back... Otherwise, where is the point of wasting time running, hiding den get caught throw in DB...

Just to clarify the part on AWOL: the days you spent in AWOL, as well as the days you spent in DB are not counted towards your NS service. This means that your ORD date will be pushed back the number of days you AWOL + spent in DB.

It is never worth it to AWOL

Changi prison > DB
Correction on this.

DB = Prison

And in the future, if you are filling in any job application forms which has the question, "Have you ever been charged in a Court of Justice?" you must tick yes.

If you tick 'no', its just 3 words - You are lying. And depending on the company's policy, you may/may not be hired.

In the first place, just think before committing any military offences.

this is WRONG.
military and civil justice systems are distinct and seperate entities. a DB offence would be logged in goverment records but i must stress that it is NOT a criminal record.

fyi, DB is classified by the authorities as a 'low security corrective centre'. prison is prison. DB is DB. they have nothing to do with eachother.

Gambling and vice wise I may not be the know-all and will give wrong information. But trust me on the DB thing.

Had seen someone first hand given marching orders a long time ago due to his DB offence and on the thinking that 'DB is not a criminal record' and he ticked on the 'no' under 'have you been tried in a Court of Law?'

And given marching orders simply because of 1 single error and the assumption that DB != Prison? Its not funny.
