I just got the ASK 5690 and hook up to the ONR. I realized that the AP5690W dose not allow you to change the wifi ssid and password. Or is there a way?
I login to the IP address and it dose not have that setting.

You may want to use the Askey App.

Take note you need to get the IP address of the Askey from the Singtel ONR (192.168.1.254) if you want to use Web UI.

If the Web UI does not help, then you have to use the app.

But according to the user guide, you should be able to use the Web UI.

Scan the QR code and there is a guide to change the wireless settings: Go to Wireless Setting > WiFi

Not such setting in there. I called SingTel and also point the same thing but I keep telling them it not there.

Got a set of askey ap5100w (4 unit) and having set them all up, noticed that the wifi is not stable. Using a Ethernet backhaul and all units shows green light for the 5g led. My devices will be connected and then after an hour or so, will disconnect and reconnect again or it will show connected to wifi but no internet. This despite the laptop being exactly beside one of the nodes.

Did more digging and realized that 1 of the 3 nodes is on a different firmware and I wonder if this might be the cause of the issue. I'm not on Singtel, so is there a way I can download the firmware to flash it myself? Anyway saved the firmware for download?

No way you can upgrade the firmware on non-Singtel network. Singtel controls the customized firmware and there is no place you can download the firmware, with some exceptions.

In any case, the Singtel specific mesh solution (or anything from Airties/Askey or Arcadyan) is not a good one to go with. I will suggest you move away from this mesh solution in the future.

Since you can use Ethernet backhaul, you can use cheaper dual band mesh solution. Depending on your budget, you can look at Xiaomi (eg: Xiaomi AX3000), TP-Link Deco (eg: X20, X50) or Netgear Orbi (eg: RBK353).

For very low budget (eg: sub-S$50), you can also go with second hand Linksys EA8100 from Carousell (S$10 per unit). Just set them up as AP mode. You can even use OpenWRT and then set up more proper mesh if you really want to go that route.

Well, i used the airties 4920 before and it was decent. Got it cheap for $30 for a set of 4 and it served my needs for 3 yrs. One of the unit went dead recently so i decided to replace it with the askey. Got that cheap too. $35 for a set of 4. Don't think u can get a proper mesh network for as cheap as this.

With the airties, the download link for the firmware was given to some forumers, making it possible to keep a copy of the firmware. I was hoping there would be a similar copy for the askey one as well.

I understand. Hopefully some forum user will be able to provide you the link if there is such link exist for the Askey AP5100w.

It is still supported for security updates, at least until 31 May 2025 as per Singtel.

One possibility is to get the help from a friend using Singtel and attach that unit to the network to see if its FW gets updated after some time.

Last night got notification to update my android TV, then after update it won't connect to my wifi.

I tried:

1. Soft reboot TV
2. Soft reboot modem and router
3. Unplug and plug power from TV
4. Unplug and plug power from router
5. Forget all wifi in TV and re-enter password
6. Reset the TV

All not working.

Then I create a guest wifi without password and try, it get connected successfully.

Then I went to the guest wifi and create a password, then cannot connect.

Very weird situation.

Then I create a guest wifi without password and disabled the broadcast SSID, but I can still see the SSID after reboot the Askey mesh few times.

Any other suggestion or solution?

Singtel WiFi 6 Mesh Solution Setup video (including troubleshooting guide)

1) two independant pack -- Singtel Wi-Fi 6 Router Askey RT5703W-D171 + WiFi 6 Mesh Askey AP5690W (working for both ONT/ONR users)

2) dual pack -- Singtel Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender dual pack (only for ONR users)
The video shows dual pack of Singtel WiFi 6 Mesh (Askey AP5690W-D171) but I tend to think the same guide will work for dual pack of Singtel Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Extender (Arcydyan WE620242-ST)

Singtel provided WiFi 6 mesh solution now
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/routers-ont
Other than TP-Link HB810, the routers like RT5703W and WG660242-ST will not work with other ISPs as the main rourer since they have Singtel VLAN built-in (but should work as an AP behind the main router). WE6260242-ST and AP5690W are pure mesh solution and not function as a router.

I'm moving soon into a resale flat, and I realised I can't apply for any broadband because both port on the termination point is used. Can only install another termination point if I wanna proceed. Which is almost $200.

How do I proceed? I already informed agent to remind seller terminate their broadband before moving out.
But then there will be a delay and I'll probably end up 3 or 4weeks without internet.

Singtel does provide FW download links for some of the Singtel issued routers, not the AP5100 though.

same as your power/water utilities, ask the seller to terminate or transfer ownership to you.
termination will take awhile before the port is released.

talk to your lawyer, to include termination/transfer of broadband services as part of the handover/takeover checklist (i forgot what it is called) ie part of the terms of handing over the unit in "vacant possession".

If this condition is included, the seller will be very motivated to terminate/transfer, otherwise there will be a delay in handover, and hence financial penalties.

I had a Singtel 1Gbs contract, 24-months with the WiFi 6 Mesh Ask (Single Pack) add on. Starting in Dec 2022.

Now is Jan 2025. When I try and cancel the WiFi 6 Mesh Ask (Single Pack) add on, Singtel wants to charge me an "early termination fee"? Isn't the Mesh mine after 24-months? Dec 2022 - Dec 2024 = 24-months right?

Confused. :(

That should not be the case. Maybe you want to print out the terms and conditions. You can check the terms and conditions from MySingtel app. Or you can check with your email as well. They would have sent you an email with the terms and conditions upon successful sign-up.

Singtel now provide WiFi 7 mesh solution with either TP-Link HB810 or HB611-SGST for selected 5Gbps/10Gbps plans. Both are Aginet compatible and support TP-Link EasyMesh.

I believe both can mesh with each other and support Ethernet backhaul. This should be much better mesh solution than the lousy Arcadyan/Askey 1G capable mesh solution.

Thanks! I dug up the old emails and found that although I signed the contract in Dec 2022, I only started service in Feb 2023. So I guess my 24-month contract is from Feb 2023 - Jan 2025. This clarifies alot.

I got the new promo where they offer me the Singtel Wifi 7 Router (BE11000) for a 3Gbps plan, $39.90/month. Do you know this router is compatible with the old Singtel WiFi 6 Askey Mesh that will be mine soon? I don't really need superfast wifi throughout my house. I currently connect my PC via ethernet cable, directly into the Singtel WiFi 6 Askey Mesh.

Not compatible. But you can contine using your Askey Mesh solution.

Your offer is very good recontract offer.

Singtel ONR 10G LAN port --> TP-Link HB611-SGST triband BE11000 router 2.5G WAN port (new SSID)

Singtel ONR 1G LAN port 1 --> Askey unit 1 (existing SSID)

Singtel ONR 1G LAN port 2 --> Askey unit2
