Mine isn't really flipping but more own stay/investing.

2003 bought EC for about S$500k
2010 sold EC for S$830k
2010 bought terrace for S$1.1 mil
2018 sold terrace for S$1.82 mil.

Now have 3 properties, freehold Semi D in JB fully paid
1+1 bedder small freehold apartment condo in Sg, small loan
3 bedder freehold condo in Sg, small loan.

u just heng that time sg transition from developing to developed country. now impossible to flip already. the young generation are the sacrifices to your gain.

In 2010, Singapore was already a developed country.....so still can make money. Look at Sydney and London. Can still make gains even if already developed country.

Young generation got cheap HDB flats. London and Sydney youngsters, faced with 300% rise in the last 10 years, do not have HDB flats from the govt.

I understand these profits come from your residential property. What about the rental income for your investment properties?

Nice work. Wish you good fortune in your subsequent investments.

Thanks. Rental income $2200/mththen $2100/mth then S$2200/mth but now sadly $1800/mth for the last 4 years from Sg MM.
Rm 2500/mth for 2 years and RM 1800/mth for another 2 years for the JB house. They r good tenants so we just accepted lower rental but prob could have higher from others.

I think a good measure of whether your Malaysian or Singapore property is better would be rental yield. Which one gave you higher rental yield? Another factor to consider is currency movement. So, need to convert back your RM income back to SGD for fairer comparison.

Seems like you're going quite well as property investor.

Since you just sold your $1.82m terrace, will you be buying another bigger residential property? Ever consider a smaller one or even HDB? Personally, I think it's risky to upgrade to bigger and bigger residential property after each successful flip. Eventually, when the last flip fails, it will be a financial disaster. Fortunately, you have precious human capital backing you. As long as you're healthy, I think your medical skills/knowledge and income as a doctor is your greatest financial asset. I wish I could say the same for my engineering knowledge.

Sg rental yield r better but depends on how u calculate also cause I took 100% equity loan to buy JB house.

We signed otp though not yet exercised till next monday for freehold 3 bedder condo apartment yesterday. It is smaller than our terrace.Has nice big balcony which I like but hubby finds it a waste of space.

Taking a big loan in Ringgit was a good move because MYR has been depreciating, so it makes your loan smaller.

Do you mind revealing how much is your freehold condo? When I become higher SES, maybe I can consider living in one.

I live in HDB and I am getting concerned with the lawless cyclists and PMD riders around the HDB neighbourhood. It is unsafe for the family even if we are careful. I hope the situation is better at condos. Using the swimming pools at the condos regularly is healthy lifestyle. I personally had unpleasant dirty experience at public swimming pools before. I expect condo swimming pools to be cleaner.

Does your condo have convenient amenities in the neighbourhood? Does the condo location allow you to survive without a car? This is one advantage living in HDB. There're lots of shops to buy things around the neighbourhood and nearby public transport is good.

It is about S$1.3 mil. Can walk to good eateries in Kovan. Not far from mrt and Heartland mall. But still more convenient to have a car.

My loan was actually in SGD.
