cheapest i heard for st lucia is 100 bucks , EVERYTHING included but its damn rare and u have no chance of getting it unless u know the person who is already living in there and is willing to move out

N oso shd i apply thru IDP or any other agencies? cos i heard that IDP is not providing a gd service as they r handling quite a lot of students.

2-3 weeks before school starts should be alright i guess. There will be no scenario whereby ALL the units are fully booked, it's just down to how much you're willing to pay. If you have a pretty large budget, you will have no worries about getting an ideal place to stay.

Asking through other agencies? I've never heard of that before, but as i said if you're seeking help from IDP, their job is just to find you a suitable accommodation, you cant expect them to look for your ideal place to stay. Afterall, they are not exactly being paid by you to source for your accommodation.

I'm paying 125 at this present time. I'm not sure if the landlord is planning on increasing the rent. He hasn't done so for a few years now according to my flat mate. He even halved our rent last summer as none of us were here. That's really a blessing from God.

that one confirm muz be aussie...if its those PRC or taiwan landlord ur rent will confirm go up every yr or juz stay the same...

Exemptions

Well, I guess you can search and download the file on exemptions for poly students from UQ website according to the respective faculties. Cos for biotech students or students gg to pursue life sciences, you can actually get it from bacs website. Normally for students having A and B grades average, they can get up to 2 yrs exemptions. The max is 2 yrs exemptions cos u need at least 16 units or 1 yr to grad from UQ.

Perhaps u can try UNSW or Monash as their engineering course are pretty sound. Not so sure abt UQ.
