Anyone is also using the StarHub UltraSpeed (10Gbps)? I am so frustrated. (Solved by upgrading ONR firmware.)

can i know why many of you sub to 10G? what the reason, cause me want to sign up a new plan

access your NAS often?
download tons of stuff?
many ppl at home that use lot of bandwidth?
For me, my SH 1gb plan itself is $40.
EPL is $24, netflix is $20. Total $84/mth

The bundle that i sign up is:
1st 12mth $45
2nd 12mth is $85.
Averagely is $65/mth.

- 10gb ultra speed.
- free epl (24 mth)
- free sports+ (24 mth)
- free netflix (24mth)
- free disney+ (8 mth)
- free black SH box (24 mth)

Its even cheaper then my 1gb. No brainer.

Yes it is No brainer la. For Disney+ it will be renewed nearer the date so that more will sign up. This is to encourage 1G to move to 10G automatically. Netflix is premium plan.

May be for you but honestly $ is not everything in life for many of us as it is just a bit more and not a lot more. I suggested SH to offer less than $100. For example buy one japan melon for $20+ and ate it. $20+ finished immediately after we finished it. CNY Korean oranges $80+ one box for 10 only. Like eat gold. Sold out very fast.

Anyone know how to setup DNS for IPv6 on EB810v?

Probably I will ditch this TPLINK EB810v on the first day since there are no option to change IPv6 DNS to google/cloudflare, or just disable ipv6, until I buy a new router.

no major changes, so far it is just a dream to get 8gb u/d all the time
My guess is soon the grant will be approved by IMDA and soon after the upgrade of the backend equipment to Support this 10G services we should be able to get 8Gbps most of the time. May be further upgrade in the future too. Now Wifi 7 Laptop coming out.

Can. In this case just go to Starhub shop to say that your ONR having issue and request for change to ONT but you must buy their TP-Link Router from them. You tell them to change to ONT with the purchase of their TP-Link router. It has been reported here many times.

On my speed issues, this is the reply I got from StarHub after many back and forth. I also spoke with him previously and told him that most of the time I am not even hitting 5gbps lol. But whatever la

Referring to the conversation on 28 July 2024 and your feedback to IMDA.

This is to address your concerns regarding your Ultraspeed internet service. Based on our network backend team's assessment and feedback from our vendor, we would like to provide our findings:

According to our vendor, achieving a speed of 6-7Gbps is considered a good result. It is not always feasible to maintain a perfect speed of 7-8Gbps due to the shared 40G bandwidth among all users at the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) and the limited Bandwidth Network Gateway (BNG) router bandwidth.

We have shared with you that the Ultraspeed service is already offered at a 50% discount. You may refer to the terms and conditions for a detailed understanding of the factors affecting speed tests.

Given that the current speed you are achieving is considered decent and satisfactory according to our vendor, we regret to inform you that we are unable to provide further assistance on this matter.

Meanwhile, we wish to assure you that we are continuously working to improve the Ultraspeed connection, similar to how 5G mobile network coverage has expanded and improved since its launch.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lack of communication over the past four months. The delay was to ensure all necessary processes were properly followed. We appreciate your acknowledgment and agreement to close this case.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Nice.

Based on the feedbacks, the current OLT has only 40Gbps bandwidth, assume the OLT needs to serve 24 customers (or more?), it is really true that you will most likely not get 8Gbps or even 5Gbps during peak hours.

So if you do not need the contents bundles like EPL, going for 5Gbps plan is better.

Maybe future OLT will have 100Gbps bandwidth. But further up there will be another bottleneck.

You're still contending with a shared 10GbE link with a maximum of 24 other subscribers.

I don't think the OLT's 40GbE link is a major bottleneck in this instance.

Depending on time of day, their border router is probably another bottleneck, which i think is the source of your evening peak hour ping spikes. :s13:

No Worry la as SH is aware of the situation. I was told that everyone is having the same slow speed as me during peak hours. My speed is very low now but I do not need to worry as on 17 July newspaper wrote that Major ISPs have applied for the grant with their detailed plan on the upgrade of their backend equipment. It is just a matter of time that the issue will be resolved. I think December we should hear some good news. Once confirmed upgrade, SH will inform me. Now just relax and wait for it to happen la.

In this particular instance, I actually think your Nokia ONR is the culprit, as the upload speed is quite okay.

Maybe you want to discuss with your wife again and change to ONT plus EB810v.
