Seems like most of you are going for Business Management (Finance) which means we will be schoolmate rather then coursemate ;)

Laguna123, nothing to be headache about - it depends on which course you want now. If you are concern with the Full/Part time and travelling issue but still wish to go for a Degree then choose the one which can enable you to do so =)

Seems like none of you are going for Accountancy ~.~!!!

hi all,

i applied for both UniSim and RMIT and now ive got both acceptance letter.

Can anyone help me in facilitating my decision?

RMIT Econs and Finance
UniSIM Bsc Finance

for nw my thoughts are as of such,

RMIT
- course fees abt 26k (ex. text and exams fees)
- overseas degree
- more recognition (compared to unisim degree)?

UniSim
- course fees abt 14k (ex. text and exams fees)
- local degree
- relatively lower lvl of recognition?
- already paid $500 for the pre-offer

Cheers!

edit: got quite a fair bit of information on both unis frm past threads, not really sure if the extra modules ie, uCores and MinorCores, are relavant.

Just need some information from seniors in RMIT Econs and Finance, i see from the program structure as below,

ECON1016 Macroeconomics 1
ECON1025 Prices and Markets
BAFI1005 Financial Markets
ECON1035 Business Statistics
JUST1023 Commercial Law
ACCT2060 Introductory Accounting
JUST2288 Law of Investment and Financial Markets
ECON1056 Price Theory
BAFI1012 Business Finance
ECON1045 Macroeconomics 2
ECON1064 Quantitative Analysis
ECON1089 International Trade
BAFI1029 Risk Management
BAFI1045 Investment
BAFI2071 Introduction to Futures and Options
ECON1085 International Monetary Economics

Are these the ONLY modules u are required to take or are the minor cores like UniSim?

Congrats to those who have successfully matriculated into SIM-RMIT BBACC.

1) Those who're seeking dynamic challenges in academic pedagogy should also consider for UOL's accounting & finance. Do note that there's a substantial drop out rate over at UOL.

2) If you've scored a minimum of GPA 2.5 to 3.0 in your local poly days, you need not worry about your own competence & tenacity

3) Be careful of the minimum attendance rate.

4) Do attend the end lectures

5) Maintain a strong & long term relationship with your group-mates, do not be petty over small issues relating to equity of contribution(unless its serious).

6) Be mentally prepared for a wide range of course assessment tools, eg. project/presentations/tests/online tests/exams/mock interviews/individual reports/literature analysis

7) Know more friends instead of acquaintances, so you can also gather more educational resources

8) Be receptive and open to learning. Everything's already fine-tuned, there are many batches which have graduated prior to 2011's batch, so you can be sure that the modules taught would not be obsolete.

Do not be goal-oriented with the degree in mind, but rather, be process and goal-oriented.

9) Do not slack, there are cases of people failing their modules and paying a monetary penalty.

10) Good luck and all the best.

I have not receive the letter yet :(

i choose business management specialise in business finance

You will receive the letter if you are either accepted or rejected right? Don't worry you will probably get it soon.

Might want to try giving them a call to check on your outcome. ;)
