Tell them I'm going overseas?

No way........ lol. I prefer more 'unorthodox methods'.
just ask your friend to tap your student card for you. (hopefully nothing happens) no checks will be done. unless your class size is super small that it's too obvious if one is missing.

hey does anyone knows how does RMIT's grading system work?

Like for how many marks for High Distinction, A, B etc?

:)

and does it have like 1st upper class, etc?

sorry if i asked a stupid qn :p
80 and above: HD
70 - 79: DI
60 - 69: CR
50 - 59: PA

If i am not wrong, rmit does not offer honours unless you go overseas.

Thank you for your response to my question! :D

Hmm.. any idea what will be stated on the certificate that we will be getting after we graduate from SIM?

There is a GPA system right? Upon 4 (the same as poly)?

My friend showed me her cert and she said it is the same as what RMIT issues to their on campus students(Australia).Basically states your name and degree awarded. If your overall GPA qualifies you for a distinction award,it will be indicated on your degree too ie.with distinction. No mention of SIM anywhere on the cert.IIRC,she said the GPA required for distinction is 3.0+

Yes RMIT adopts the GPA system. High Dist is awarded 4 points; Dist 3 points; Credit 2 points; Pass 1 point; Fail 0 point. If your average GPA is 3.0 and above after completing all your modules, you graduate with a 'Degree with Distinction'.

The cert awarded is the same as the Melbourne students. You can choose to transfer to the Melbourne campus after your first year of studies.

hmm..aiya..i also think i not going for the orientation too

i suggest u all better go for the orientation camp cos u can get to know u course mates so that u guys are easier to find u projects mates when the term starts. better to choose someone that u r familar with to do u project rather than the lecturer group u randomly.
