transfer USD from FSM -> dbs eMCA .
theres no 10$ inward remittance fee cos its 'local usd cheque clearance' from dbs website.

already withdrawn twice.
takes about 3-4days (1-2day for fsm to deposit cheque and 1-2 days for dbs to clear cheque)

I see. So basically u don't physically receive the cheque, FSM will cheque it into DBS for you in a way. But how about finding TD from DBS then for you?

There was a USD20 fee from Wells Fargo when I wired USD directly to TDA US Bank.

my TD account is still not up yet (applied on 30july still waiting)

But i invest in crypto which uses wiring transfer also. I dont think there will be a problem for wiring. Depositing into the account should be fast (1-2day) but withdrawal could take up to 5 days.

what i know from wiring $$ from SG <-> US

normally during withdrawal, it will be in bulk... dont think $25 is of any concern.

This is the the price to pay for zero commission.

I understand TDA is overwhelmed with too many applications. So you guys may want to consider this alternative:

This is the the price to pay for zero commission.

US brokers are generally expensive, even before zero commissions arrived, these fees were there. To me, IBKR is a good balance, cheap margin loans and conditions and wide variety of products to trade. Commission is often not the biggest criteria for most people, when you look at how much you can lose or win on the trade, commission is very very small part of it, unless you are a very frequent trader.

How long it takes for the money to be credited uh? I transferred on Friday morning money still not in... anyway to speed up process
