hmm... the ones i got are also slightly thicker at connector side which is plastic. I guess this will not work for some cases thus im asking to see if anyone got OEMs with a same size as the Apple's original.

Back to topic:
for the Daiso's cable, is the speed really much faster?
I'm using the OEMs and original cable. so far Im not complaining as both speed seems similiar.

Are you looking for cables? I cannot post the images here. Sorry still a little newbie. Sorry.

Odd.... the HMZ app cannot post.....

My repost

Off topic here

Which SKU did you get. DX has several versions of the cable.

The ones I got have about the same length orslightly longer by 5mm to 1cm

The USB A plugs are the same size, except DX ones are not as white and the printing is darker and in bold. The connector side for the DX ones I have is slightly thicker and has a tighter fit on the frsit few inserts. They work..... no DOA for the ones I ordered......

Back to topic.

After my dinner at IMM, I went back to Daiso to check on the stock level of both the retractable 70cm long ones[ I estimate about 50++pcs left?] and the non-retractable 60sm type[quite a lot left, the "3 layer box" shown a few post earlier is still 70% full EACH, plus the ones at the counters when you queue to payup and a few shelves a way on the wall is one row of them]

I regret not getting all 10 in the retractable types as they are 10cm longer and neater looking when kept. The non-retractable ones are 60cm only and looked a little unsightly when kept[I don't keep the twist-tie thingy]

oh yes.... I bought 10 cables, 3 non-retractable for my office and 7 for myself, 2 at the computer, 2 in my room and 3 on standby...... not alot right? Cos I didn't bring enought cash just now and I took the wrong ATM card with me.... Took the no $$ in the bank card :s31::s31:

Dear Lobster,
if you are going to order so many the next time, hahah, tell me can give you special price for retractable cable ones.

Pls guys.

1. The cable speed is more or less the same in terms of data transfer, I notice no drop nor increase in etiher Daiso ,original or not cable,

2. The built of the Daiso's cable is not as good as the original. But at $2, its a steal, plus I have used it for almost half a year and it is still going strong.

3. Yes, it can be used to charge the ipad as well. (assuming you use the right charger or u have install the Asus AI charger software to charge from USB)

4. If it is the speed of charging that you guys are concern, try to install the Asus AI software, the speed of charging increases by a bit cos it somewhat push the USB Amp to from 1Ah to 2Ah.

Generally, it is a good price and for $2, you can get the 60cm or 70cm (retractable) kind at Daiso.

Last visit to Seng Kang branch on Saturday (2 days back). Stocks aplenty, so no need to rush or fight over it.

In Daiso IMM now. Those 3 cartons boxes are emptying. Only around 15pcs lying in each box. They are retractable ones.

The normal ones are hanging in the shelves. There're around 50pcs here.

Luckily I purposely made a trip down despite living in the extreme east.

Erm, there is a Daiso branch at Seng Kang (Sunshine Plaza).........

Instead of going all the way to IMM for it, i think you can try that place next time to fulfill your $2/item spree.

In fact, i just bought one set of retractable one from Daiso Sunshine Plaza on Saturday evening, and i can tell you........there are sooooooooo many of them on the shelves.

Those branches are much smaller. I can shop around for other items when I'm in IMM.
Saw three carton boxes of normal cables when I was at the checkout. Looks like stocks won't run low for the time-being.

Forgot that I can't use these aftermarket cables and went to buy. -.-

Anyway, to those who wanna find those 'slim' cables (like the original ones), can go to Toy Outpost (Scape or Plaza Singapura), it's only $2.50 and $2.80 respectively. :)
