I also dunno what can be of good use with this tag. I don't use keys and rarely lose my stuff. Was thinking to put on pets in case they ran away. Lol.

Yup thought of that too. Something like these would be more useful I feel for tracking purposes compared to static objects like keys and backpack.

It relies on bluetooth range which is about 10 meters away, I don't think anyone has problem to find a bag within that range.

Apple AirTag page has a picture that shows items being located 200 meters away, that's so fake...

it relies on network of apple devices, so as long as there are any apple devices within the detectable range of the lost item, it is able to be located.

Then I find no point of having the air tags but I will get it for the sake of having it. Probably will only get 1 and attach them to my keys

OK I read again AirTag page, looks like so, anonymous Apple devices can relay the location of AirTag too.

Problem is that if the person who steals your belonging has an iPhone, he will be notified that you have a airtag following him.

While it aids in ensuring someone don’t illegally track you without you knowing, it also notifies the bad guy who is stealing your item and allow him a chance to throw it away.

I just posted in e other thread $45 each yet doesn’t even come with a hole to put yr key ring. need ADDITIONAL holder sometimes I feel  is trolling for real

if someone steals my car or my bag, in a while (not sure how long) the person will be notified that an airtag is tracking him.

He then have an opportunity to throw it away to prevent me from locating my possession.

In short, airtag is only useful if the item is lost and no one decides to misappropriate the item

Having said that, I will still buy as I am a sucker for Apple product and have the tendency to lose things

Disable sharing location from your phone and put your airtag in your car or some ulu corner near some coffeeshop etc.

Your wife will think you are having a super long coffee break

Put in luggage. Then check in. when arrival at destination, can track if your luggage is coming onto the belt anot. that is when travel is resumed.....
