Tons of people reported slowness and problems after any ios upgrades globally.

Well if you hadn't notice that 1-5 sec lag in loading of apps over the years, I can only say you are blissful.

for what it's worth my 2yr old 6s after updating to iOS 11 still performed e same. only battery life was bad. duno where u get that 1-5s longer thing from 🤔

finally the truth is out:

<quote>
Conspiracy theorists, rejoice: For once, you were right. Apple confessed this week that, yes, it slows down old iPhones to mitigate battery concerns, practically confirming a long-running suspicion: that a tech giant has messed with an old device to encourage people to buy a new device.

I actually appreciate how Apple holistically looks at a person's experience with the phone in general and tries to make the trade-off.

What I don't agree with is not giving users the option to revert if they rather performance over battery life.

Yeah that’s what that made people go to the extreme, of suing Apple.

Users should be given an option and that Apple cannot make that decision for us.

Worse comes to worst, go Apple store Orchard and smash the phone into pieces. Security also can do nothing with your action. :p

So it was either slowing your device down.
Or having your device turn off half way while you're using it.

It could have been —
1. Apple doesn't do anything! My phone keeps shutting off! They're ripping us off because they are not doing anything and letting the devices turn off themselves.
2. The current scenario.

Granted they could have been more transparent with their approach in doing this. But wow, the amount of click bait articles out there.

If anyone is interested on how it actually works.

They didn't fool anyone.
Everyone believed those (arm chair) "analyst" said and fell for it.
Dealers/Grey Market kept hyping up the prices claiming there's insufficient stocks.

If you want to blame, blame the scalpers/dealers who were fear mongering to drive up the prices/demand of the market.
The ones who buy more than what is required.

In fact, Apple doesn't want anyone to queue.

Fear mongering like what insurance agent is best at doing ?

Battery wear is just an excuse.
Changing a brand new battery would have sufficed. But Apple chooses to slow down your iphuckyrphone entirely with only one shrewd motive - buy their latest model.
