Hi all. I made my first Mac order on 13 June. Expected delivery as stated from the order page shows 17-20 June.

Which shipping company does Apple use to ship their Macs? Are their estimates usually correct or inaccurate?

They are always correct or rather 90%. But 1 day before the delivery you should received another email for notification purposes. I do not order big items but small items i received it from ta-q-bin or DHL this 2 companies.

I see. So far I've only got a "Thank You for your order" mail. Waiting for changes. Most likely will receive it on/aft 20th though because of weekend.

did you CTO your order? if you CTO-ed it most likely shipping will be by DHL as they will pick up your parcel from the factory in China and ship it all the way through to SG via Shenzhen/HK.

My rMBP I ordered it with pre installed iWork Plus one gigabit Ethernet adaptor.

EDIT: just found out that it is config-to-order. My bad.

No, just paid for pre installed iWork. No configurations.

when your item ships you will be notified which shipping agency has picked up your order. it seems like your rMBP is shipping from china given that it is >24 hours, which means shipping would most likely be thru DHL.

the delivery estimates are normally quite accurate, when i bought my 27" iMac CTO, the item was shipped out on thursday and i was told that it would arrive on monday, but the parcel actually came in on sat evening (DHL so hardworking).. so its like an early present haha

I don't think so though... They haven't sent me an email that they've shipped it out

You waited only for 4 days. Those of us who ordered the 2012 iMacs CTO waited for 6 weeks leh.

It will probably ship today, arrive tomorrow or wed.
You'll get more confirmation if you have a tracking number.

I am waiting for my CTO iMac too. Ordered on Tue 11 Jun. Ships in 2-4 working days. Just today (4th working day after ordering) status changed to Preparing for Shipment. Waiting ...

I dont know if this is applicable, previously I have made a purchase of an iphone via Malaysia apple online store

It ships through DHL, and it was a day or two late. I have been calling the customer careline multiple times just to check on it (as im getting it sent to my office, i wanted to make sure that the courier guy pass to me directly, not to my receptionist or someone else)

The customer service person offered me rebate of RM100 for my trouble (of it arriving late, without me asking), but anyway the iphone was passed to the receptionist despite me saying otherwise.

Currently package is in Pudong Airport, according to their tracking system. Just finished clearance. I guess there is an incredibly slim chance of getting the laptop today.

DHL is quite accurate in their timings to deliver, however they won't call you until they are about 15 minutes away from your doorstep. Meaning you cannot arrange a delivery time with them. What I did was keep tracking the DHL tracking number, and then when they move out from SG depot, I make sure I am at home.

Personal experiences with FedEx is better than DHL. Many instances of DHL driver fly aeroplane.

This is my first time trying DHL. I've tried taqbin, FedEx and TNT so far... FedEx still the best out of the three.

Their tracking sucks. Online weblogs tell me that package has departed SHA (hongqiao). Tracking via apple's email stated that clearance done in Pudong.

ordered mine and it says left shanghai as of 6+pm so will it come tomorrow or thursday? hmm... i will call DHL tomorrow once i see that it has come to Singapore.

Mine still same. Email track states clearance complete at pudong (11.39am today). Online track tells me departed from shanghai since yesterday 6.49pm.

I dunno which to trust. Haha.
