it's not unusual that such mechanical part can malfunction.

is there still tactile feel?

have you tried to restart?

Yes the touch is still there, but when press no response. I did a full reset but the problem is still there..can’t restart because that’s the button to on/off the watch..

then bring to apple store to get it diagnosed if it is indeed the case.

anyway what's your intention to ask if others experienced it before? is there like a 2nd part to that qns?

If physical button faulty then most likely it's time already. Never heard before physical button faulty linked to OS. Don't think it's wise to repair too since Apple watches are usually not very repair friendly. Considering the price, can consider an SE if you are not looking to splurge.

this worked for me.. these days i start to have this habit.
shut down phone via the side button before charging.. helps to keep the button moving in case, dirt trap, sweat etc corrode the edges of the button

https://www.switchingtomac.com/appl...arm Running Water,to achieve the same result.

How do I unstick the side button on my Apple Watch?

Warm Running Water. If a single drop of water doesn't do the trick, you can try running warm water over the watch button while pressing it repeatedly to achieve the same result.
