Hermes at 2k worth the price?

At first I also don’t think it is worth 1.9k. Until when I physically go Apple Orchard and try out the ss gold vs the Hermes single tour leather. Suddenly I realise that ss gold was totally pale in comparison when compared to Hermes version. In the end, I manage to get the Hermes version online and collect today. By the way, they only release one piece for each Hermes model today. The last I check, Hermes single tour leather version all sold out.
Not forgetting, it comes with 2 bands. Both Hermes leather and Hermes exclusive orange sports band.
Immediately, I cancel the ss gold I ordered online and bought the Hermes single tour instead.

Mine was single tour bleu indigo leather.
I also bought the single tour barenia leather for my wife. After I click buy, both no more stock. So I Guess it only comes in 1 piece each. Mine is both 44mm.
You also interested in Hermes version as well? Or ss gold?
I know everyone here is waiting for gold ss and will be a sell out.

I don’t mind getting a Hermes but they are all SS... looking for a gold SS.

Gold ss was initially my first choice, until when I tried the Hermes version and eventually decided to take the plunge.
If u really want gold ss, I rather u stick to ss gold sports band.

why was there a difference when you tried it out?

1) when I put on the ss gold with stone sports band (Milanese gold is never my choice as it looks ugly and sissy on my wrist), no doubt it looks good. However, when I try the Hermes single tour, it give me a sense of class and overall, very professional looking.
2) wearing the ss gold with sports band, I felt it’s very heavy. The Hermes one gives me great comfort and the weight is just right given the fact that Hermes leather is definitely lighter than stone sports band.
3) I was totally mesmerised by the Hermes watch face. Something the ss gold don’t has it.

You r most welcome. But I Guess beauty still lies in The Eye of beholders.
Ss gold will definitely have more supporters for series 4 since it’s something different from the previous series.
Go try it out at Apple Orchard to get a more accurate sensing. Don’t just rely on pictures or photos to make the judgement especially when u are prepared to spend a hefty sum in it.
Happy hunting!

I preferred space grey ss instead of silver. Hermes didn’t come with space grey and hence I hesitated when I saw it was available.

since got no stocks, i’ve come to gradually realise that maybe i should be pragmatic and just go for alu GPS because that’s all that i need

I think that's good thinking. I *wanted* SS, but that was more costly and you had to get cellular which I'd never activate. Alu GPS is close to 1/2 the cost, and at that price if it even satisfies 80% of your needs, it's a good deal.

Spend $600 and use for 4 years, I can justify that. Spend $1200 bucks, pay Singtel another $120 a year to access my own plan. $600 / 4 years -> $150 a year, $1200 over 4 years plus Singtel -> $300 + $120 = $420 per year. I didn't find that a hard choice to make.

I have a space grey alu for series 3. Currently I’m using it for sports/run/gym.
So this time round wanted to have something different.
I think some of us here tends to change our preference as the wait gets longer.

Remember, get what you really want and you'll be much happier using the watch. Some don't need the cellular or those using M1 or Starhub but preferred the stainless steel.

I've always chosen stainless steel since the first Apple Watch and never regretted. Yes it's more expensive but it feels and looks better than aluminium, at least to me.

Agree with you. Don’t know why people here love to psycho one to one model to another. It’s like telling people your favourite colour is the best and they should love it.

As long one willing to part with the money and get the best enjoyment value out of it. Everyone has different budget and spending power and appreciation for one material factor to another. As long it’s an informed decision.

Hope everyone enjoy their watch!

Good statement! It's definitely better than 'I should've gotten SS/aluminium' once one has bought it and advisable to do some homework before buying. I don't believe in making wrong decisions when purchasing, just that the decision was rashly made.

Surely each type of watch serves different consumers and some love the luxury of edition series or Hermes. If one have the spending power, definitely can buy. Everyone will love their Apple Watches including myself. I find myself buying one once a new series is out (except I don't have Series 1) so on my side, have to control more in future as it's an expensive hobby.

Bought aluminium on my S3 first, went Space Black Stainless after there and now Space Black Stainless on my S4, no regrets

Think stainless goes better with formal work attire, at least for me
