oh myyyyyyy i’m torn between aluminium GPS and SS versions, any kind soul can help me out?

I’ve been using SS since first gen Apple Watch until now, Series 3 LTE. At first, I wanted to get the aluminium sport model but changed my mind as SS looks much nicer and more durable, never looked back.

Yes, it’s more expensive but it’s worth it. If you don’t intend to change Apple Watch every year, SS might be your answer. It also boils down to your budget. If you feel half-hearted on getting SS, get aluminium first and you can always upgrade to SS for Series 5.

Are you the kind who cannot tahan scratches on the case and screen? If so, SS is your answer.

Good answer. SS does get scratched, but not as bad as aluminium. SS scratches is similar to regular ones found on conventional watches and it’s 316L SS on Apple Watches.

I can vouch for the sapphire crystal on the SS models, I’ve bumped on it (not too hard as it’ll shatter) and brushed it aagainst concrete walls a few times and not a single scratch on the screen.

The best part about SS case is, the scratches show signs of usage rather than an aesthetic defect.

Just compared the prices of Apple Watch on Japan’s store and it’s cheaper there. Now you all make me giam to try the SS version instead. Hope there’s stock when I’m there next month.

No hurry to get one. I got my Series 3 LTE only on 1st March as Singtel only started to launch Numbershare on Feb 8 (or 9?), only then the LTE models arrive in SG.

I am still waiting for HSA approval for the ECG feature. I do see other devices with cardiovascular features already approved, so possibility is not ruled out.

Just for your info. I chatted with an Apple specialist yesterday. He told me the ECG feature is pending approval by the local authorities here and once approved can be easily enabled with a software update. I see this as a positive sign. At least, Apple has already submitted an approval request. :) So it is definitely coming.

Last time my Series 2’s battery bloated after an overnight charge, and I brought it to Apple Store. Have to wait a few days for replacement as at that time no stock, but was given a 1 - 1 replacement. Then, my watch was only 2 mths old.

If out of warranty, then have to pay replacement cost of the watch module.

If battery replacement for out of warranty Apple Watch, I believe it is still paying for just the battery replacement cost. I have a very old iPhone 5S that got battery replacement recently. A new (refurbished) unit is issued for just the battery cost.
