Guys, ladies, have you really calls apple before going down....??? My experience calling apple also blood boils explaining to those helpdesk. I believe they will send you email to do a diagnosis link and end up saying the iPhone is cool and nothing is wrong right?
Those feedback I did since I got my ip5 been doing the service that we got is getting worst here in spore.
And when you see other forum, not just Apple service bad in spore, but other country like US, itself now.
I strongly believe cook he want to mini the transport cost of shipping back replacement cost.

AppleCare+ is international, only issue is to find the service centre overseas if you're not familiar with the place.

Base on my experience on the AppleCare+.
Either u buy on the spot with the device if not had to call in to apple to buy with them running a few test remotely.
So no way u can get like last time in a box which u can choose to activate later.
Now all within 60days from date of purchase.

If that the case then you are wrong.
End of the day was the damage item replaced or exchanged? Imagine that you do not have AppleCare+?? U will be paying a whopping $550 for one replacement.
Although the center suck but we still have apple to fall back on which have the final say.
Unless u tell me even calling apple also useless then your statement make sense if not get AppleCare+ still the best.
This case is abit specia as normally is crack screen and water damage which is dealt with without much issue.
Only those with software or hardware issue which not easy to detect or pinpoint facing problem at the service center.
Look at this case the phone was badly damage however maybe due to bendgate Apple is skeptical on the repair for this as this might be intentionally instead of the covered accidential damage.
I just hate the waiting time to the max which they could really consider have a express queue for those straight forward replacement case. Instead of waiting together with those trying to proof the phone is faulty.
Too many ppl are abusing the system which making those genuine case suffering. Last time Apple just do a one to one but due to ppl changing out parts etc then now they do repair and sub to vendor instead.
Well well... Who to blame??

just called apple, purchse of applecare+ is possible but apparently they may ask u to go back to the point of purchase for servicing if the faulty part are not available in singapore.

in a dilemma whether i should purchase applecare+ or just purchase a new one if they can't get it fixed in singapore should the day come.

just to share my personal experience. Although its wasnt a good thing that happened to me.

Got my iphone6 drowned in toilet bowl today. fully submerged for over 5s.

Left my phone on a rack right beside my toilet bowl, 2 long incoming calls went on and on until the vibrator function moved the phone off the rack and make my iphone 6 suicided itself. I will skip what happened and the failed revival.

Needed the phone urgently for work and all the barangs we do on the phone. Quickly rushed down to A Labs @ plaza singapura #4. Its a bloody long queue to my surprise! waited for approx 30 mins to get to the queue ticket issuing counter.

I told the lady straight my ip6 is water damaged and I have applecare+. She told me the cost is $108 to replace which obviously i already kneew. She asked if the phone can be powered on, which it can't. then she advised that the wait time currently would take about 2 hours(including inspection). But if my phone can be powered on, i can be issue immediately a new unit.

well no choice went for a quick meal to burn time, took about 1hr 20mins until its my turn. You can register your queue # to be notified by sms when you turn is coming soon. At the counter is was simple filling up details and tendering the dead ip6, then i was informed the inspection will take 40mins! I was a bit impatient so i ask the staff why is there still a need to inspect? she answered since the unit cant be powered on, they have to get the technician to check for any illegal modifications i.e. 3rd party battery, LCD screen etc. Well that took another 40 mins. came back 40 mins later and collection of the phone and payment was quick.

all in all i took 3 hrs to get my applecare+ activated and an ip6 replaced. wasnt happy nor upset about the process probably cos i cant wait to get a "new" unit back. The overall waiting time could be shorter when i compared the experience i have with singtel my telco for the exchange previously
