Oh and I asked her to request for a loaner phone at the very least - guess what the reply from QCD was? Only telco-purchased sets are eligible to obtain loaner sets from them, and sets bought directly from Apple were not eligible (hers was bought off Apple Store SG in the first wave). Totally WTF moment for me...
Maybe you should feedback this to Apple directly about the kind of service the 3rd party is rendering. At least they are aware. Perhaps something may be done in future. Just a thought.

QCD damn asshole. I say my battery got problem. Shien them on the spot. 1 hour drain 50%.(the person put the phone on the desk and within 5 mins. Around 5-7% drain while doing nothing.). They say they will check and say there's nothing wrong. It's perfectly normal. I ask them how is it normal for a phone to last less than 2 hours? They say battery test no issues means no issues. They can't do anything. I called apple and they immediately write report to QCD say offer replacement since it's obviously spoiled (Apple also did the same battery test and conclude that there's issue).

QCD had a few sagat before.. IIRC, there was one internal email leaked out that QCD refuse to change the battery due to the pricey battery. was asking the engineer see got any other cheaper 3rd party battery to fill it in.

Always go thru Apple hotline.

Yup I'm definitely gonna help her write that email to Tim Cook. Apparently he really does read (or someone helps him read) the emails to his account and action does get taken... Though I don't think they will set up a native Apple servicing centre here...

under applecare shouldn't replacements be fulfilled without any questions asked?

i mean perhaps they may give QCD a warning or perhaps find a new 3rd party service provider. This kind of "cheapo" service does not serve Apple's reputation well.

Every dissatisfied customer must feedback directly to Apple about their poor and absurd level of service.

No follow call from Customer Relations today - I helped her draft an email to Tim Cook and she sent it out about an hour ago... Let's see what happens next.

It's the SAME sai A.lab gave me. Mine got dark patches on the top and the CSO slide the brightness all the way to max and tell me cannot see the dark patches. As long as cannot see, mean nothing wrong, mean cannot change.

It's really WTF.

Sounds quite scary. At this rate Apple's authorised repair is going , they are going to antagonise and disappoint their loyal customers. I will think twice about buying Apple products.

Do not expect much from outsourced vendor. Apple maybe paying peanut to these vendor and with limited operating budget, we get degraded service from vendor.

"Apple after sale service" in no time is likely to be worse off than "nokia after sale service" which everyone including me had very bad experience when sending nokia phone for repair in the past

Update - the customer relations guy called her up and said it's finally all sorted out and she can head down to qcd to get the replacement at $108, and said that they are seeing how to make it up to her for her inconvenience. So hopefully the saga will end later when she go down. She's asked for a written explanation on the issue and he's agreed to do so. Wonder if it's because of the email sent to Tim Cook..

highly doubt that but let us know what happens when she does go down and what they did to "make it up to her for her inconvenience"

I always take photos and explain to Apple first before heading down.

Because everytime head down first = get rejected, super lousy service from A.Labs.

The pinoy staff buay tahan. Didn't even want to issue me a ticket.

Me: Can i get a queue number?
Pinoy: Give me your phone.
Me: Oh Okay.
Pinoy: No, sorry sir, i can't issue you a ticket because there's no problem with your phone.

*after called apple and apple approved, went down again*

Me: Just give me a ticket.
Pinoy: Show me your phone.
Me: NO! Just give me a queue number. *Angry Face* You see already still need to issue me ticket, i still need to wait for your "engineers" to check right?
Pinoy: She walked away and another Malay girl come take over.

SMLJ service is this sia... zzz

I am not surprise. The issue is not Apple. It's the vendors. They are the ones who screw up the service level. Even SingTel service centre for iPhone has done well according to my experience. Too bad they have now given up servicing iPhone and left it to the two 3rd party vendors. Sucks!

Whatever it is. Call Apple hotline first and get an email from them as proof of replacement approval before going down to either vendor.

Hi guys, please contact Apple and feedback to them about your experience with the AASP (aka, QCD, A.Labs).

She's gotten the replacement phone but no further written communication from Apple so far...
