I recall the Apple Store employee said that I can buy Apple Care to extend coverage for another year, within one year after purchase of iPhone. I didn’t buy the AppleCare+ when I first get my iPhone. Is my understanding still correct?

Apple Store need to buy within 60 days. But some said 3rd party resellers can buy up to 365 days. Usually I buy immediately with my phone. Because I saw someone dropped it after they open the packaging. Then bang balls

Apple store can buy within 365 days. You need physical inspection on the spot to get the Apple care+ after 60 days inside Apple store.

When I was in jewels Apple Store, they said 60 days. Anyway, I don’t mind extending AppleCare by paying. Then I can change iPhone every 3-4 years and not 2 years

60 days is based on your phone. After that you need to go to apple store to purchase Apple care after 60 days.

I brought AC+ today for my almost 1yr old IP16PM.
But not at Apple Store. I called Apple support number last week, CS told me can only buy AC+ within 60 days.
Then I googled and found QCD sell AC+365.
Went down to QCD today and brought AC+ which cover my IP for further 2 years till Sep 2027.
It’s the official AC+ warranty under Apple (not QCD)
Hope the above info helps.

If you buy online its 60 days then the option is no longer there. To buy apple care+ after 60 days you need to go down to apple physical shop to buy. QCD 365 is the same as Apple care+.

To clarify: the Apple support hotline CS told me I cannot buy AC+ after 60 days, even if I visit Apple Store to have my phone checked. She wasn’t certain at first, so she put me on hold and then verified this with SG store.
So I went to QCD instead of Apple Store cos I don’t want to make empty trip in case policy changed, esp as @elvintay07 also mentioned Apple staff at Jewel told him “within 60 days” only.

If any bro managed to buy AC+ at Apple Store after 60 days recently, do share it here so we can help update each other. The Apple Support CS might be wrong.
I tried asking QCD CS today during my visit, he also not sure if we can buy AC+ after 60 days at Apple Store.

60 days is online/in your phone. Apple store is ANY days within 365.

it’s < 80% within 1000 cycles

when i spoke with apple CS, they never check the cycles, seems they look at <80% still?

even for trade in, they still check the % only.

Yes. Both visual check for cosmetic and software diagnosis check within iPhone.
Only damage found is my wallet - $319
Whole process including paperwork and payment took ard 10-15 mins at the counter.
All checks done in front of you. No need to provide your passcode to the staff.
Can see on AC+ coverage with Sept 2027 expiry date almost immediately once process is completed.

it just appeared as a notification under my icloud field at the setting page. clicked and purchased auto reflected on the applecare warranty section
