Depends lor. Last time I could. But now maybe they will slam you with user inflicted damage. My friend couldn't get his replaced at Alab some time back..

Do they repair or replace faulty iphones these days?
I've got a lightning cable with some parts of the white plastic came off (wire exposed)..can i replace it with Applecare+?

Sorry, i think i get you wrongly.

If your iPhone's screen shattered + other issues and you have APP+, you will need pay A.Lab/QCD some small amount of service fee. They most likely will do an 1-1 replacement.

However, if your iPhone vibrator/camera; etc is faulty and you have APP+, of course you will be covered with APP+ and no need to pay any single amount. But A.Lab/QCD will send it back to the Apple Repair Centre (somewhere in the East side) to repair. This will normally takes 3-5 working days.

In conclusion, I'd recommend you to request for ERS if your iPhone has minor hardware issue. They will do an 1-1 exchange instead of repairing. Of course they will hold some charges to your Debit/Credit Card.

If those iDevice doesn't have any APP+ may associate with a small fee in the event customer request for ERS.

Correct. $48 as Service Fee for screen crack/water damage.

Actually my mistake to report is as Accidental Damage and was quoted $108 and got and ERS new refurbished unit delivered to me.

Should have declared as Cracked Screen instead.

Need to get it replaced with refurbish unit one to one replacement.

It will be hand down to my family member and should have last another 2 or 3 more years.

Cause heard that refurbished unit will come with a new battery etc.

they may tell u cosmetic damage, not covered? if screen crack, replace screen only? case still damaged. they never promise to 1 for 1 exchange if u pay $108 did they?

I reported it as battery issue and need to replace the iSight camera.

And wala, they returned me a refurbished iPhone though I wanted the original iPhone that I sent in instead. (To match the box's serial number)

I got Express Replacement and paid $108 instead of $48 cause I told them Accidental Damage.
If screen crack only $48.
Mine got small dent at the side and the refurbished unit is as good as new.
So never make any noise for the mistake I make and just accepted it.

Yeap. I have AppleCare+ and sent in just a day before it expires.

I walked in to QCD@Wheelock instead and opted for no replacement phone during the timeframe it's being sent in as the iPhone 6 Plus is my secondary phone.

Without opting for the replacement phone, you don't have to go down to exchange back for the repaired/refurbished unit thus allowing Apple/DHL to deliver the unit to my address directly. Received a refurbished set instead (not yet activated).

EXPRESS REPLACEMENT
From what I've known as I've sent in my Apple Watch, file in a Repair and after troubleshooting, Apple will charge and put on hold the full replacement fee for the refurbished product until you return it.

Steps:
- Apple delivers the refurbished product
- Refurbished product arrives
- Take out 'new' product
- Put back the 'defective' product into the packaging
- Call DHL and arrange for pickup
- DHL collects it
- Recieve notifications and/or email that Apple received your 'defective' product.
- Wait for Apple's end to diagnose and crediting back to bank account within few days. (Waited for 10 working days)
