I'd only go cinema for IMAX releases. If only Interstellar can have new showings... :(

I missed it when it was first released in 2014.

Ever since file sharing and the home entertainment set up, I can count on my hand how many times I have been to the cinema.

The last one was Frozen 2 where it was a kids party and all were invited and paid for by the host.

The cinematography and sound is really good, must watch in IMAX though. And also, that's if you can get past the usual jingoistic "USA, USA, USA~!" theme of such movies. (Like the 战狼 series from China)
Haha. okay I will watch it 😉 but not in cinema since no more.

Use VPN lor. Can switch regions.
This Amazon Prime thingy is it like Netflix?
Pay a fee monthly and you can watch whatever they show you?

I never use before. I thought it is for shopping one and if you have this it will deliver to your place in a day or less? :s13: :o

Cinemas ar
Some say watch to support, while other say don't support becoz to them tix ex here.

I watch at the cinemas because of the experience that my 4K OLED TV and Home theater sound system cannot replicate in the confine of my home or the movie is not available on any of the livestream platform.

And like one post experienced, I watch the Mandalorian movie at GV Max Vivocity with only 20 other patrons on 1st day of screening last week.

Youngsters find it no point to go to the Cinemas when they can wait for it on livestream platform to watch on their phones, tablet or desktop pc.

Oldies like myself prefer both the content and experience. I can put up with the hassle and buying online is already a convenience unlike in the 70s to 90s, have to queue on the spot for tix, sometimes left hanging becoz tix sold out.

And the other plus point is can have a group gathering afterwards for dinner. Sort of social activities beyond chatting online.

Those who find going to cinema is a hassle I find are less social, living only within the confines of their cavern.
What size is your TV? Do you have AC? To at least replicate the cinema experience, you should preferably have a 100inch 4k projector full Atmos system with electric recliner chairs. Because that is what going to Eagle Wings premium "smallish" cinema is like.

Anything less and it will be just like watching TV.

u hardly see any queues at cinema nowadays. not to menstion they dont want to lower the prices. and rather let the screening have empty seats.

used to use shaw 1+1 tickets promotion. now thats gone and probaby will stop going too.

The content itself has really gone downhill. Probably will become a relic in my lifetime. Planning to build my own proper home cinema in my own home.

Wont regret setting up home theater with speakers, better than sound bar.

cinemas all over the world are dying a slow and eventual death. as a matter of fact, a lot of old famous cinemas across the globe have shuttered for good the past few years.

because there are no good movies to watch nowadays. hollywood just crapping out DEI WOKE movies every month.

and tiong movies only appeal to a very narrow demographic.

Ya, we have seen example : Sinema, Eng Wah / WE, Cathay, Filmgarde, The Projector shut down. Is it time to treasure the remaining ones ?
It's kinda a trend in ppls viewing habits now. Like they like to watch Netflix more now.

Plus tixs prices is not helping d operators themselves. Now some ppl is opt to go jb watch movies instead.

Not bad I watched in cinema also. The only movie that kept me on the edge of my seats are Speed, Inception and Baby Driver. Now most movies are thrash.
