Normalizing in the USA.

In SG they will milk the locals for all they are worth as long as possible.

The same can be said for graphics cards that over time become unoptimized for particular coins. Insufficient VRAM is one reason. And they have already created forks in order to let these GPUs to continue to be usable. Or sometimes entire new altcoins.

So now it is just different groups of people trying to convince others that somehow what they're doing is worth money.

That is DAG size. In time DAG size will increase, there is a estimated timeline for this for all altcoin. So 2Gb cards are now unable to mine for most altcoins. 3Gb cards are also on the way out. This is known to miners.

That is different from hard forking. Please read up and understand first before giving wrong info.

Developers will hard fork to make coin mining ASIC-resistant. ASIC makes mining centralized, rich individuals and farms buy hundreds and thousands of ASIC to mine. 1 ASIC machine can be equivalent to tens or hundreds of GPU in mining power or hashrate.

ASIC machine are so loud that it is not conducive to mine at home.

The modus operandi of blockchain is to decentralized. Of course there are large GPU farms but their impact on coin mining difficulty is not as bad as ASIC.

I'm more interested in when we can see the Pascal Refresh cards.

Really hope they implement hdmi 2.1

Possibly. But to be honest, the use is very limited if you are connecting to a monitor. Most monitors now don't come with HDR. Those that comes with HDR either cost a bomb, and likely don't have full support.

Tiagong 2nd q.....

Nvidia have been quite hush hush about it. Usually we should have seen quite a fair bit of leaks since we are already in Q2. Also I believe the shrink is from 16nm to 12nm, and may not translate to a significant improvement unless they did a significant change like they did from Kepler to Maxwell.

Well, Shops has been selling at chop head prices for so long already. Even when the price come down, why would they cut their profit margin? if they continue selling at this price, people will still buy when they need the items. Unless everyone goes online. But we know that is not the case.

i think your point not exactly true. pricing gets competitive and SLS also have their price wars. 1 drop another will follow in order to get more sales. over time definitely will drop one, if the supply of GPU start to normalize, just a matter of how fast/slow.

It's normal only when you see lazada has stocks with rrp tag. All else are just conjectures.

Even if the shops are run by same owner which I get it, they are also up against the distro selling online. So they need to be in line in terms of pricing or they can forget about selling. Also if the price delta between Sg and aboard is too big, I am happy to buy abroad too.

Planning to get a gpu as my spare gpu on my old rig up lorry. Anyone knows whether how much the cheapest 1060 3gb is being sold? Or is it still same as pricelist pricing (chop carrot pricing) ?

Quite high still at $300 range as compared to pre-mining times of $250 range for the 3gb version :(
