Has anyone ever book hotel stay with this asiatravel.com?
I recently saw good deal for local hotel (with DBS 15% cc promo), booked my stay and received the so call "confirmation" email. However, when I call up the hotel to request for some special arrangement, was informed they did not receive my reservation.

Called up asiatravel.com hotline and was informed hotel had accepted my reservation, just that they are settling some internal booking issue with hotel and rest-assume my reservation is confirmed.

Now I kind of worry as is prepay booking (meaning they had charge my cc) and what if hotel confirmed they did not receive my reservation at all, can I still get back my refund?

they are fine to book. have booked before with them ..
you might wanna give hotel a call ?

if your hotel booking is free cancellations, in the event you do not wanna take the booking anymore, u can cancel for free. if urs is not free cancellations, then have to continuously check with the hotel ... just in case u go there they say no such booking, would spoilt ur holiday mood one ...

if ever you have booked the hotel at a glitch price.
hotel normally would say there is a problem with the booking
they wont acknowledge.
they would tell u to check with your agent, which is asiatravel in ur case
then you have to call the agent, plus ur hotel, which is kinda troublesome ...

Hotel keep say no such confirmation number found nor my reservation received, but asiatravel keep assume my reservation had been accepted by the hotel. :(

Wah more than 50% cheaper.
But you made so many calls within one month, might not be worth it after all.

Quite rare for hotels to honour it.

Not really.
I have booked novotel bangkok at 1sgd ...
have called them and they honoured it :)

Have booked shangri la bangkok @ 68sgd per nite for two with breakfsat, free cocktail buffet, hi tea buffet ... usual at 300sgd+ per nite ...
hotel manager doesnt wan to honour it
I emailed Shangri La Bangkok vice president...
luckily he honoured my booking.

Have tried to book other hotels in bangkok at glitch price, they do honor it :)
initially they dont, however, after calling the ota few times, and even the hotel , they finally acknowledged ...

So for those who use both expedia and asia travel, which one more reliable? Expedia is all-out on advertising, asia travel just silently in the background.
