For some unknown reason, some very fine ants decided to make the gaps under the new bartape of my road bike their home. One whole line of ants crawling yp the bike stand onto the chain stay, along the downtube and up the dropbar into place where the brake cable goes under the bartape. Now dunno how to ride that bike. Wait ride halfway, ants starts crawling up my arms and bite me.
Strangely, my other 2 bikes parked beside it have no attraction to the ants.
Just replaced these bartapes and had not had a single ride with them yet.

I think the bartape glue was the culprit

Wah...like that dunno how liao...this morning I spray mosquito repellant all over the bike. But evening see still got ants. Dun want to spray insecticide all over the bike as hands may have to wipe sweat on face when riding.

my opinion is to remove the bartape completely and give it a good clean, its not so much of a problem if they are "feeding" there, more of an issue if they decide to "move in"

Actually, I used a piece of 'wet wipe' to clean the handlebar before wrapping this piece of bartape. Haiz...think tomorrow got to go over to the Entro sales see if they have discount bartape. Then I go replace and clean the whole thing again.
