Yar figured that cabs avoid ppl with large items, eg wheelchair.

Litepro Quick Release
QR skewers only $20. I take cab from ECP home already $12 on normal days liao. $20 seems like good investment!!!

Yes, but u still need to convert the axle to allow for qr skewers. Your original axle doesnt have the hole. Also, you are paying for convenience and effort required to change tube and bring along the extra stuff.

For your scenario, take a cab back is easier. If you are using full size bike then I recommend fixing the puncture cos no cab is going to stop for you

Actually there are taxi drivers that do stop. I manage to flag down cabs a few times with my MTB (few times cus of chain break, rd hanger break and once caught in a heavy rain). Need to remove both wheels to get it in though. But some cabs may not be able to fit it into the rear trunk even with both wheels removed. The last chain break I had around midnight at CV, I spent like 15mins trying to get the frame into the trunk. In the end, the cab driver allowed me to put it into the rear passenger compartment.

Ps. I think those cabs running on CNG may also not be able to fit the bike into the trunk as their trunk space is reduced cus of the CNG tank.

Wow still need the axle conversion! Thanks for the info. Guess it's taxi or a $3 spanner for me.
Will ride more and see if I pick up the hobby sufficiently enough to upgrade to wheelset with QR!

I think the couple of weeks before big festivals the traffic normally quite hectic. Lots of ppl rushing about to complete certain tasks for the festival. :o Things like rushing to do shopping, sending gifts, delivering goods etc.

Just now saw a close shave while crossing the overhead bridge across expressway from tampines to pasir ris via park connector route. Saw this fellow ride his motorbike across the overhead bride and almost langa with another cyclist, sibei scary.

Must take video of the motorbike with its licence plate clearly send & send to LTA for prosecution.

No, the lesson is to learn how to control your bike first before going at such a high speed.

For example, when I was little, I rode my bike straight towards a building. I wanted to brake hard before hitting the wall and lay down a long skid of rubber. But, I had never learned how much braking distance I would need for that sort of speed.

I ended up smashing into the wall and flipping over onto my back with the bicycle on top of me. :s22:
