For long distance, I will wear jersey, together with padded pants.

As for helmet, its a must.

I do wear cycling jersey set because:
1. good padding in the shorts
2. fabric (lycra) keeps your body cool and dry
3. jersey has back pockets for wallet and phone
4. tight fit so it won't move around

but that's just me

oh ya.. I do wear helmet, gloves and goggles too...

Now I wear those dry fit t-shirts and my jogging shorts. But ordered a pair of gloves and a set of Jersey. Waiting for them to arrive.

Helmet always got wear. And my helmet got visor for day and night. So never wear shades.

1) Jersey or dri fit depending on mood, short rides just wear dri fit
2) cycling shorts if wearing jersey, otherwise can be tights with shorts for tee
3) Glove is a must (long or short) to protect you when you fall.
4) Helmet always on the Tyrell, sometimes with a sun shade on the Brompton.

Even with the best grips, glove is essential to protect your hands when falling. Road rash on hands and joints are one of the hardest places to heal. Although SG is too warm for full finger glove, otherwise will be better.. got a friend who had a nasty fall, glove protected the palm area but not the fingers, one of the nails came off... so imagine it without the gloves.

haha.. not hardcore. I find cycling jersey is cooling, helmet is a must, shades too to protect your eyes, gloves to protect your hand when fall.

story: leaned on a bench at ECP. ok for 10 mins. then it fell. bike almost touch floor but bua-ed the stone table/bench as it was falling..

very sad. within one week already like that.

story: leaned on a bench at ECP. ok for 10 mins. then it fell. bike almost touch floor but bua-ed the stone table/bench as it was falling..

My mtb also leaned on something till scratch, within first week of purchase.
So quickly install a kick stand on rear wheel.

I think you can buy brand new one. Cannondale CAADX Tiagra is about 1.5K.

You also can get 2nd hand Giant Anyroad Comax 2 (carbon) but I read some reviews of crack frames around seat post due to defect.

Wah rao... All the properly dressed cyclists... I t-shirt, shirts, sandals, no gloves de loh. Dry fit shirt for longer or more intensive rides, gloves only when going on non-XC trails. Sibeh low class compared to you all...
