much better shifting now.

While u went road rd, I went mtb rd from 9 to 10 speed..maintaining 11-32. And same as you, shifting is precise, faster and pretty silent..

Went to try out green corridor on my hardtail for the first time. Even the trail is considered very gentle compared to other trails. Certain areas along the way, I experience vibrations even with air suspension fork. I guess alu frame are weak in absorbing vibrations . The shop recommend me to switch to carbon handle bar to reduce the vibration.

I am running on 29x2.20 tyres and was able to hit 25km/h on the trail and was fun. Different cycling experience apart from riding on the road or pcn.

I heard steel mtb are better at vibration absorption. Anyone know of any affordable brand steel hardtails? They should be cheaper than carbon rite?

If it cannot shift well, then something must be wrong.

Ultegra also must adjust barrel to tighten or loosen the tension once in a while when after riding for few hundred km or after chain cleaning cannot shift to lowest or highest rear derailleur .

Don't misled ppl later all change to ultegra thought zero fine tuning required forever then come scold u

After all the black tar starts building up, around every 200 km. Chain gets dirty and chain lengthen, cassettes, rear derailleur cogs, front big cogs basically whole drive train up lorry

Remove and soak in degreaser, then give a good scrub, maybe once every 2 months or when I think its dirty.

I paid around 1.4-1.5k for Ultegra di2 with DA crank, cheapest upgrade di2 kit locally is 1.4k

Effortless smooth shifting, no chain rubbing, able to install additional quick sprint shifters and shift switches on other areas for sprinting/climbing. Tuning of the RD allows you to micro tune each individual cog, can configure how each button works and how fast the gear shifts.

Battery can last up to 2000km, I use the mtb display for my setup, so can just check to make sure you have sufficient battery before you go for your ride. But i read on the net that some riders have problems with their battery , so finger crossed for me.

I think I will stick with my ridea hubs for now. if wanna change hubs, maybe will go for dt swiss hugi hubs instead which I used on my mtb.

Using di2 pre-programming, does it mean it will auto change gear according to terrain? Means i don't even need to press any button.


Anyway i think i like internal gear hub more, because almost maintenance free.

I spent almost $800 just to get rid of the SA internal hub on my tern bicycle.

Had to get new wheelset and groupset.

After removing the hub, my rolling speed increased by 5kmh.
